One may find a king or queen-sized bed set within an open and airy great hall, or a double bed nestled quietly in a more intimate chamber, each arrangement possessing its own quiet poetry. Our two young children were especially enchanted by this place, for here they encountered a sense of novelty and beauty unlike anywhere else—a gentle departure into a different, more tender world. Small rivers encircle the surroundings, and to stroll along its banks after supper is a pleasure most serene, a delight for both heart and spirit.

Loved everything but thought the shower room let it down. Shower that didn’t spray out and was difficult to get the right temperature, basin that did not have hot water at all and found when showering floor was slightly slippy!

Everything was great ! Great and warm hospitality!!! We will definitely go back!

Met on arrival by hosts who gave us a tour. Had doughnuts left for us. Accommodation was amazing. Very quirky. Own little private nook on the canal. Canoe you can borrow. Right in the centre but very quiet at night when all tourists have gone. Projector to watch films.

absolutely beautiful! quaint and quirky decor yet functional. good coffee machine, projector, hot tub, comfy outside smoking area, vegan breakfast pancakes… pretty much a perfect stay!

“A unique stay in central Giethoorn - fantastic location, enterntainment, and breakfast”

This is one of the coolest places we've ever stayed, and we wished we'd stayed longer than 1 night! The location is amazing. To be in central Giethoorn but also to be able to park right beside the house is great. The building is unique. It seemed to be a former barn with very high ceiling and a unique structure, that could have been a hipster bar at some point. There was a 'bar' in the large main living area. Being large and open-plan, it was very cool but not really cosy. The projector screen (watchable from the main bed) and entertainment system was amazing for watching films, and the hot tub in the separate cabin was also very cool, with a TV and sound system. The breakfast (made to order and delivered that morning on a trolley) was beautifully presented and so tasty. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful, providing advice and being available for quesitons.
