This privately run hotel in Gießen enjoys a scenic location on the banks of the river Lahn while being only a 15-minute walk from the town centre. Set in a converted ice storage plant, the Altes Eishaus, Hotel & Restaurant provides affordable, cosily furnished rooms with en-suite facilities. “Enjoyable stay”
This is my 3rd stay in this hotel. I love the location beside the river and the history of the building, it used to be a functioning ice house. The staff are friendly and were able to provide me with uk pillows on request. I will be staying here again.

“A cozy stay in Giessen”
A very speciel hotel with memories and machines from earlier in the restaurant. Nice to have diner in the evening in the "Biergarden" - very close to the river. From our room door to a terrace with view to the river.

The building itself is very nice and in a nice location. Free parking space directly in front of the hotel. Easy check-in and out. Rooms were very clean and easily accessible.

This is the second time that we have stayed here. The venue has good parking, the rooms are nice a clean. Breakfast is good. The restaurant is excellent. The hotel is on a quiet residential street but within walking distance of the town centre.

“Great hotel in historic setting”
Beautiful room in very nice setting near river! On balcony had view of the river. Staff super friendly and helpful, breakfast very tasty and room nkcely decorated.

“Adequate value for the price. Quality of breakfast could be better.”
bathroom: all the comfort I did expect breakfast: not as good as during previuos stays, e.g littke choice of bred abd rolls, no croissants.
