“A lovely, well-equipped house in a quiet part of the village”

This is a lovely, very well-equipped house in a quiet part of the village of Gharb, with great views from the roof terrace and a little suntrap of a courtyard where the pool is situated. Anthony was very helpful (he came within a few minutes to sort out a very minor issue), and the hamper of foodstuffs (and wine!) was very welcome - always a lovely touch from a friendly host. The house is very homely, with just about everything that could be needed (plenty of pans, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils, blankets, towels, cleaning stuff, etc. which some rental properties skimp on a little - it was great to find everything we needed) - and also beautifully built, with ornate touches of stonework (Anthony is a stonemason himself). The pool will be lovely on a hot summer's day, and the roof terrace too - sadly, as our visit was during a rather windy week in March, we couldn't benefit so much from them! Again because it was March, we had to go further afield to eat out (the restaurant/bar near the village square was closed during the off-season), but the bus stop is a minute's walk from the house and the hourly bus takes you to Victoria in less than 10 minutes - plenty of places to eat/drink, and of course frequent buses to everywhere else on the island. The shop 10 minutes walk away on the square in Gharb has a good variety of products (closed Sunday and around lunchtime), and there's also a bigger Lighthouse supermarket about 20 minutes walk away which is open all day including Sunday (near the Dbiegi craft village).

Really quirky little house, great architecture and traditional decorations. Nice small outside space with a pool. Great personal touches from the owners, including welcome food pack. Convenient parking nearby. Very easy and enjoyable stay, thanks.

So quiet and peaceful, such a lovely welcome from Anthony and a lovely welcome hamper. Anthony lives 2 mins away so local if you ever need anything (we didn't, but knowing he was so close is nice). Pool is lovely and most welcome after a hot day out or just to chill around. Views from the rooftop are amazing especially if you're lucky enough to be there Festa time. Bus stop 2 mins walk away and bus ever hour to Victoria which will then take you everywhere. Simply beautiful, thank you Anthony, his daughter and their cleaner.

Anthony was extremely helpful and his daughter was too and provided us with an unexpected bundle of food which helped us settle in nicely. When we needed emergency dental treatment they provided excellent recommendations and all was sorted very nicely

The roof terrace is exceptional for whiling away a lovely warm evening. The whole property is well equipped and comfortable and the hosts responded immediately to any questions we asked them

The farmhouse is in an idyllic position, tucked down a little lane. It is well equipped, very clean, and the owner Anthony is very hospitable. The free hamper of food was well thought and graciously received as we arrived early in the morning and desperate for a cup of tea. The pool may be small, but it's perfectly formed with a jacuzzi facility.

We were self catering though our host provided us with the staples to set us up as we arrived late that night. Very thoughtful.

“Fantastic villa in a traditional village”

Anthony's house is amazing with fascinating stone craftsmanship throughout. Good views from the roof, cute pool, charming courtyard feeling. We loved how quiet the location is, with lots of church bells to colour the experience. Anthony was very helpful and left us with treats for our arrival, including wine! Parking is easy, but we relied on the bus which passes about 50m from the villa, every hour. Gharb is QUIET but provides everything you need: 2 grocery stores, restaurant, park, and good fast buses to valletta and dwejra bay (swimming). We walked along the stunning clifftops, swam in Dwejra's inland sea, and ate lots of prickly pears!
