“Unforgettable homestay with incredible hosts”

This was hands down the best place we stayed during our 3 week trip in Japan. It's already a true Japanese experience to stay with a local family in a small village, but the hospitality and genuine kindness of our hosts made it unforgettable. Keiko-san and her husband are truly wonderful, kind-hearted people, if you get the chance you should absolutely stay with them and experience something unique in this incredible country!

“This is a gem.”

This is what staying in a Japanese home, hosted by a Japanese family, feels like. The couple managing the guesthouse open up their home to visitors, charging an absolute pittance, but ply you with kindness, delicious vegetables, and the sort of warmth and sympathy that makes you think there is hope for humanity after all. They are absolute treasures and I wish Jinpai-san and Keiko-sama many years of good health and happiness.

Lovely hosts. Very friendly. First time staying with a Japanese home. We had private seating area as well as bedroom. Comfortable futons. Some free nibbles and green tea which was really thoughtful.

“The best”

Where do I start. I could not say ありがとうございます！ enough Keko and her husband were the most hospitable family we have ever experienced. Top notch in all regards and absolutely no complaints at all. It is so comforting to stay here almost as if you’re at your grandmas house. There was conversation flowing all day and night despite our lack of Japanese knowledge. Keko was genuinely interested in both our lives and travels and through google and broken Japanese we were able to tell her all about it. If you are staying in the area this is a must do!!! More than a stay, it’s an experience you will never forget. WE LOVE YOU KEKO!!!

The host is a very Lovely Lady. She even prepared fresh fruits for us.

“Quiet and peaceful stay near Gero”

Cute little guest house with very nice and friendly owners. Snacks are prepared and they offered to pick us up from the train station. Everything is nice and tidy! Really enjoyed our night there, wish we could have more time to explore around!

The place was very traditional and clean. Keiko and Junpei were more than welcoming and attentive. I can fully recommend staying with them.

The hosts were more than amicable. I got a free fruit plate breakfast as well as coffee and a quick guide on the area! Definitely would come back again, if my travels bring me to this remote area again!

The owners were so nice. Even though they didn’t speak a lot of English, they really tried having conversations through translator apps and were very interested in my travels.

The air conditioner cannot make the room warm, the room always keep as under 9 degrees Celsius.

I had an amazing time staying here, gero Onsen was just a short train ride away and the owners picked me up and dropped me off at the station every time I got a train! The house itself was lovely aswell old Japanese style futon, nice wooden Japanese decor and a river running just one step from your private door to the garden! the location is abit remote but with trains you can get to Takayama and gero very easily and the train ride is scenic as hell. I had a great time staying here :) .
