Overview
Set next to the river Gavleån and Motorway E4, this hotel provides free Wi-Fi and free access to gym, sauna and indoor pool. Central Gävle is 5 minutes' drive away. The rooms at Scandic Gävle Väst feature bright, Scandinavian décor. All include a work desk and many also have a seating area. The in-house restaurant serves a varied seasonal à la carte menu as well as daily specials. Scandic Gävle Väst's bar has a wide-screen TV and offers a selection of light dishes. Next to the restaurant is a playroom with toys, films and computer games. In addition, the hotel has a playground. The receptionists don't like working; we have to wait several minutes for a "hello," but both colleagues have no guests.

“In summer season hope hotels specify if they have aircon or not so we have choices to book or not”
no aircon, althought they provided a desk fan but its still niy enough to cover the room and the room smells dusty, our allergic rhinitis triggers as soon as we enter the room and our whole night we just sneeze almost whole time.

The location of the hotel was good. We had a great experience with the same hotel in another city, but here the staff were not willing to help. Their attitude was rather arrogant and they didn’t seem interested in providing any assistance.

“Great overnight stay in hotel convenient to motorway.”
Location excellent for road travellers. Close to motorway but quiet, set back in own grounds. Good parking. Rooms a good size, clean, modern and comfortable. The restaurant is fine, food good but selection for dinner a bit limited. Staff pleasant and helpful.

Very, very hot in the room. No A/C. Could not sleep. No ventilation at all at the room. Many things out of work in the room. Reception person at check out could not take critic. (Reception person at check-in was very polite)
