Housed in an elegant 19th century building, Järnvägshotellet offers free Wi-Fi and rooms with cable TV and shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. Gävle Central Station is just across the street. Guests at Järnvägshotellet have access to the kitchen with fridge, microwave and free tea and coffee facilities. A buffet breakfast is served every morning. “I would like to return again”
Close to railway station, clear instructions, code is sent by sms, to enter you need enter code in the left side panel (not right side). Clean, and quite. Small but enough breakfast. everything what i needed while visiting. Tea/coffee is available during the day with small biscuits.

“Good for a short stay”
Location was perfect. Also just a 5 minutes walk to the Gävle Goat :) Nice room. Even though the bathrooms are shared, they are close to the room. There's a sink in the room. Also, there was a nice pub-restaurant in the same building.

“Perfect”
Perfect location, easy to deal with, clear communication, cosy and charming style, windows that open, sink and mirror in the room, spacious room, a variety of blankets to choose from on the bed, good breakfast, and comfortable bed. Why can't every hotel be this good?

“Hotel in the very center”
The hotel is located on the station square, on the second floor of a historic building. There is an elevator in the building, it is also very historic! The hotel is a hostel type, with shared toilets and showers. Vintage style, all the furniture except the beds is historic, if you like that, then you will be interested. The price includes breakfast, which is nice. The bed linen is clean, the bed is comfortable. It's very hot now, there was a fan in the room, it didn't help, but thanks for trying. There is no air conditioning. There is a mini kitchen, you can make coffee and heat up food.

The location was great! Check-in and check-out was super flexible and the staff were easy to get a hold of even when reception was closed. The breakfast was lovely, especially the freshly oven baked bread!

“Budget-friendly. But you get what you pay for.”
Location is the best part about this hotel. And we should add that it has its vintage charm as if going back in time. Mattresses were very soft, clean beds. Also a nice touch with tea and cookies access 24/7. Budget-friendly. But you get what you pay for. If to summarise, it's ok to stay there if you just need to sleepover between travels, and you want something very affordable. But it's not suitable for a long stay, or travelling with kids. Plus, it's more of a hostel rather than a hotel.

I enjoyed my stay here and would recommend this hotel. This was a clean and comfortable hotel. The breakfast had a nice selection with fresh vegetables and bread. There were many showers and bathrooms for the number of rooms, so it was not inconvenient to have these outside the room. My late check-in was easy to arrange and the hotel's owners communicated with welcoming and clear messages.
