“Excellent Place”

Needed a place to cook after eating sri lankan food every day and Dam's place was ideal. Its a beautiful house with trees. You can hear birds singing. Dam was always there to help, gave us a ride to fort.

Lovely apartment in a quiet area but still so close to the fort and main attractions. I had a great stay here and loved being in what is a local feel place, it felt like a taste of living here.

Dam is a wonderful host, he truly loves meeting people and is passionate about ensuring you have a great stay in Sri Lanka. He was so kind to drop us off at the Fort to explore on our first day. He also helped us arrange a bus to the airport and dropped us off there too. Facilities are basic (similar to other home stay in Sri Lanka) but neat and tidy. You have lots of space to yourself, with a bedroom plus kitchen, bathroom and sitting area.

Wonderful welcome and Dam was a brilliant, caring and very kind host. He drove us into Galle on our first evening and kindly offered at other times but we decided to experience local bus travel and Tuk Tuk. He advised us that we should have booked a Tuk Tuk via an agency rather than off the street as he was concerned for us paying too much. The Tuk Tuk drivers we used could not find Dam’s Place and both evenings got lost so we had to get the drivers to ring Dam who gave them directions and he then waited at his gate to check we arrived safely. (His point taken!) The accommodation was spacious with dining and sitting area, kitchen and separate bedroom with double and single bed but we found it all a bit gloomy. Dam brought us a delicious breakfast both mornings and stayed for a chat, and we were able to exchange USD to LkH with him which was very helpful.

“Simply the Best”

Dam is a truly exceptional and caring host, very friendly and difinitely goes out of his way to help his guests. I had such a lovely time here I'm coming back for 6 days in April. The apartment: cool, spacious, fully equipped and the balcony has views over the garden where there are many birds. Having a washing machine to use is an added bonus; there's washing lines on the roof terrace too. 15 minute walk to Keells supermarket, local shops nearby and a busstop outside the property. Dam's friend has a trustworthy taxi service (car not tuk tuk) and drove me to my next destination fir a very reasonable price.

“Wonderful host”

Dam was a wonderful host. He cooked us the most delicious breakfasts each morning and was always on hand to help with anything we needed. He arranged for us to do a tour of the area with his friend Hema, a fantastic guide and incredibly kind man. We even received some amazing Sri Lankan desserts from him. I would definitely recommend Dam's place. We arrived as strangers and left as friends.

Tucked away in a quiet street, the apartment is very clean and comfortable and at great value for money. Dam is a lovely host and super helpful. His friend Hemantha who drove us to our next destination was also really nice and helpful. Would recommend !

We enjoyed a very happy one night stay at Dams Place. He takes a personal interest in his guests and kindly drove us to Galle Filott in his 4wd and next morning took us for a free guided tour of the fort walls. While Dams Place is outside thev fort walls it is only a approx 5 minute 250 to 350 Sri Lankan tuk tuk ride away. A really nice feature was our room's balcony, covered roof top terrace, washing machine, full kitchen, large refrigerator, air conditioning in the bedroom and its quiet location.

Uncle Dam is a wonderful person that we ever met during our travel times. He took care of us like his own daughter. He is very considerate and toughtfull constantly checking on us. Galle fort is very near from his place. There's a bus stop just within few seconds from his place. Overall I felt satisfied staying in his place. “Warm comfy stay at a home away from home in Galle”

Loved the landscape around in the house. The house is co-located near the beach and train station and bus stand and Galle fort. And they have everything you need to be comfortable in the place. They have spacious bathroom, drawing room, dining table, kitchen with stove , and they even provided us (as Indians we were longing for rotis) with setup to be able to manage making rotis, provided us even pan for preparing roti, rice cooker, and basic utensils and salt/oil/pepper /sugar all you need to stay with your entire family. They have washing machine too. The place made us feel home and to my child too, they have WiFi as well as A/C in bedroom only but it was okay for us in the month of Dec 1st week. All the more, Dam is a very friendly person, he helped us booking our tour, offered the supper out in his car on the day we arrived & also arranged us a cab back to Colombo. He has even been open cultured and curious to learn how chapatis are made and wished to try one which we served him with ghee on top of it for his wife. He was very helpful throughout our stay.

Nice and clean place to stay and well connected to places of attractions. The owner is too courteous to give suggestions and advice to visit different places and even he dropped us to the fort area twice and to our next destination in his own big car without our asking for this favour

Dam was exceptionally helpful as a host. He gave us lifts into town cooked a couple of lovely curry meals for us and provided nutritious sri lankan breakfasts. He was full of ideas and suggestions for our time in galle and secured a driver for us..

Dam’s apartment is a fantastic find: spacious, well-equipped, and tucked away on a quiet side street. His generosity truly made our stay memorable; he provided great local information, gave us lifts to the Fort and station, and cooked a delicious breakfast. He is a wonderful host!

We have travelled extensively, and we can easily say that Dam is the most incredible host we've been lucky enough to have. He welcomed us like a father figure with open arms and went above and beyond to ensure that we had a wonderful and memorable stay. Dam's place is perfect. It's clean, spacious, has a beautiful view due to being surrounded by tropical trees and has a well equipped kitchen.
