“Peaceful, traditional and comfortable accomondation”

Oh wow, what a beautiful place, garden is stunning, so many birds here. The pool is gorgeous, in very, very peaceful surroundings, breakfasts were very tasty, very organised and beautifully prepared. The traditional looking bungalows are immaculately clean and furniture is comfy, we loved the comfy super-king bed and soft cotton linens. Perfect for our two week stay, the attention to detail is top notch. Kitchen is in its own bungalow so no noisy fridge in our room. Our outdoor shower / loo was a big room and a fun experience. Lots of ‘Avon, So Soft’ for the mozzi’s, although I think we got bitten more in local restaurants than at the resort. It was fun guiding the Tuk-Tuk drivers to the resort, walked many times to the sea front in the shade of the jungle, saw monkeys in the trees, water monitors in the canal, kingfishers, peacocks, cows etc. Swam in the “natural” pools at low tide on Thalpe beach everyday. Such a lovely community here, everyone smiles and says hello. Kids practice their English with a huge smile. We had a very relaxing time at Odailem, thank you sooo much for making our stay perfect.

We loved our stay here! It has such a calm atmosphere, a beautiful lush garden where we could observe many animals. The staff is very friendly and makes amazing Sri Lankan breakfast. Our room was also very cozy and clean. Anyone looking for a calm, quiet place a bit off from the busy main road and beach will love this place.

“The Kindness of Strangers”

We loved this resort. Our accommodation was spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. The pool was fab! There is so much bird life around the accommodation. We saw lots of Kingfishers and Eagles. Suresh was exceptionally kind to us when my wallet and phone were stolen by a tuk-tuk driver. What a very lovely man. Highly recommended!

We highly recommend staying here very very peaceful and clean. We loved sitting out on the veranda surrounded by nature listening to the birds, it was very quiet resort. Our room was gorgeous and very comfy bed. The pool is also fantastic. Every morning we had the most delicious breakfast which filled us up for hours. For us the location was great to get to Galle via tuk tuk, also we saw the turtles, local beaches are fab too. We also went to Koggala lake and did a boat safari and feed monkeys, saw cinnamon island. Suresh also took us to the local weavers where you can see traditional methods so interesting. Suresh was the most kindest and genuine of hosts, ensuring we had the most comfortable stay, he arranged tuk tuk for us and took us to the lake - nothing was too much trouble. We really enjoyed talking to him and learnt much about Sri Lanka. All in all this was such an excellent authentic place with an exceptional host.

Great service and super nice facilities. The pool is amazing and the place feels brand new. The owner makes excellent breakfast and is super helpful with everything. It’s quiet and calm around the place.

“Lovely hotel”

The hotel has an incredibly beautiful garden with a large pool as the centerpiece. Fantastically helpful staff. It was easy to get there, well signposted along the way and Googlemaps works fine in the area. Very good air conditioning, and fast internet. The room is large and spacious, the bathroom works fine, is partly outdoors with a half roof. Good water pressure in the shower. The breakfast was generous and incredibly tasty, fruit plate, juice, noodles with potato curry, omelette, toast and tea or coffee.

Very quiet place in a jungle surrounding. Perfect bungalows with nice terrace. Amazing pool. Super helpful and friendly host Suresh. Brilliant, traditional and various breakfast every morning made by wife of Suresh. High recommend for chill stay.

Nice bungalows in a beautiful garden with outdoor bathroom. The room is spacious, breakfast is really good and its a calm and green place. The owner is very supportive with anything we asked for and made us feel comfortable and welcome. As there is not so much around it is helpful to rent a scooter to explore Koggala beach or other spots around!

Perfect place a few minutes from the city with beautiful garden and swimming pool. The bungalow is just perfect with a confortable terrace, nice view on the garden, big bathroom. Confortable bed. The staff is so nice and welcoming, preparing sri Lankan specialities for breakfast. Exceptional!

Very quiet and peaceful piece of earth, huge and tasty breakfast, clean pool, self laundry service

It's very quite, the rooms are very comfortable and have everything you need. The bathroom outside was one of the highlights. The hosts are very welcoming and supportive, they gave us many tipps about beaches to visit, good restaurants and a lot of information about the country. The breakfast was great, but you need to be very hungry since the amount of food is huge. We felt so welcome there that we could have stayed for another week! We can recommend this resort to everyone! One advice, bring repellent for the mosquitos
