Overview
Situated in the town centre, the Penzion Kovářov is located 300 metres from the Lipno Lake and offers a restaurant and a wellness centre on site and free WiFi. The rooms are fitted with a TV, a minibar, a safety deposit box and a private bathroom. A terrace with barbecue facilities is provided and meals can be enjoyed in an on-site restaurant serving Czech cuisine. Guests can use a sauna, a hot tub or a solarium, all for surcharge, while children can roam on a playground. Alternatively, table tennis can be played, and bicycle and ski storage is available. The town of Frymburk can be found 4 km from the Penzion Kovářov and that of Lipno nad Vltavou is 16 km away. The Frymburk Bus Stop is 4 km from the guest house and cars can be parked on site.

“Not recommended.”
I strongly advise against staying here. The room was advertised as having a queen bed, but it had two uncomfortable single beds pushed together. The mattresses and pillows were incredibly thin, offering no comfort, and the walls were so poorly insulated that noise from neighbouring rooms and the outside area was a constant disturbance. The curtains were ineffective at blocking out light, and all in all, it was nearly impossible to sleep. The WiFi failed to work inside the room. Additionally, there was no water heater, and the only mirror was above the shower sink. Considering the high price, which was double the room’s actual worth, our experience was incredibly disappointing. This accommodation does not provide value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful, which was the only positive aspect of our stay.

“Good location - nice quite spot.”
We stayed for two nights and spent most of our time outside the Penzion premises. However, the Penzion is located in a nice, quiet area with easy access to other parts of Lipno, providing a peaceful escape from the crowds of Lipno town. The staff was friendly, the place was clean, and the beds were comfortable, allowing us to refresh ourselves for the next day's activities, of which Lipno offers plenty.
