“Disappointing Experience – Lack of Basic Guest Support”
Nowhere in the property description was it mentioned that the hotel is only accessible by private vehicle. Public transportation only goes as far as the main Friedrichroda station, after which you're left with a 7–8 km walk. Popular cab apps don't work in the area, and no clear taxi information is available online. I was in touch with the hotel from morning till afternoon trying to find a way to reach the property, but instead of offering helpful solutions, the staff simply kept repeating that there's no way to reach the hotel via public transport. Once I arrived at the Friedrichroda station, I called again, hoping for some assistance. To my surprise, the staff was incredibly rude — not what you'd expect when you're about to pay for a stay at their hotel. No help was provided until I broke down in frustration and started crying after hours of travel. Only then did they finally send a taxi to pick me up. The most disappointing part was that many of the staff members could speak English, but they chose not to help or communicate properly. It felt like they would have preferred to send me back to Berlin after a 5-hour journey. Dear hotel management: please remember to treat your guests with empathy and kindness. Traveling is already stressful — don’t make it worse with a lack of support.

“A lovely quiet getaway from the bustle of cities.”
The breakfast buffet was plentiful with many different choices. The dining room was large, clean and the view through the windows was spectacular. The room was clean and seemed to be freshly painted. Again the view over the mountain and into the forest was lovely!
