Overview
This family hostel offers a spacious garden and free barbecue facilities. Views of Fredensborg Castle and its orangery can be seen from the garden. The castle is about a 10-minute walk away. Fredensborg Vandrehjem provides simple guest rooms and bathrooms are either private or shared. There is also access to a communal kitchen for those who wish to make their own meals. During summertime, guests can enjoy a coffee or other refreshments at the hostel café. The roofed terrace is also a great place to have drinks and admire the surroundings. There is also a common lounge with fireplace. Fredensborg train station is 1.1 km away.

I like the location of the place and how wonderful the owner is. So approachable and can give information when needed. The shared kitchen was very clean and if a family of 10 like us eat togethere they have a table to cater it. Location was also close to a nice lake and another tourist attraction which can get you occupied.

“Second time visiting since 2022 visit”
Last year I learned to know this place. There's about one kilometre walk to the beach by a lake. Queen's Gardens just 200-300 metres away. Personnel are very friendly. The common kitchen has good facilities.

Location of the facility is just great as it is closed to everything and far away that still feels very private.

Everything you could expect from 9m2 in a hostel, and more. Our room was basically not bigger than a double bed - a very comfortable one - so don’t bring excessive luggage to the room. Get your key and roam around freely. Lots of places to hang out outdoors, in the front, in the back, in the greenery. Parking too. Within walking distance to the castle, the lake, Jörn Utzons houses, and the village centre, where there are some restaurants and cafés, even a glorious Danish bodega (Café Pingo!).

Surroundings with the close by castle and its garden were spectacular. Just 10 minutes walk to lakeside where one can swim or just enjoy the scenery. It was also very nice to meet different travelers.
