Our journey through the desert is an adventure that we never forget. Atmane welcomes us in Foum Zguid from where we enter into the desert. The ride to the Auberge is very beautiful, we make several stops at an oasis, a house of a nomad woman and the Iriki lake which has been filled with water again after years of drought, unbelievable that nature can fill such a large lake in such a short time, very impressive. The auberge offers a fantastic view, good food a very nice atmosphere, in the evening music is made around the campfire, very relaxed and chill. The next day we visit a Tuareg village we see how the families live here and how they provide the village with water from the oasis. We travel further through the varied landscape see dromedaries, and different animals, arrive at a hospitable nomad family for lunch and a nice siesta, what a meeting! A little further on we visit a nomad school, where the children receive lessons in a tent. In the afternoon we arrive at the large sand dunes, particularly beautiful, what a different world when you are standing between the dunes, so phenomenal! The next day we drive back, relaxed by another beautiful route, Atmane stops at various places to show us fossils and tells us about the nature and life in the desert. Thank you very much for the great experience, it was a beautiful meeting and a very warm welcome. We looking forward to a next trip where we travel through the desert with dromedaries for a few days.

“Amazing experience”

Food was very good, variety of foods for breakfast, tea, coffee. What was amazing that vegetables are grown organically by the owner, so were very tasty! They have cooked also a tajine for us which was so tasty, and prices for additional foods were very reasonable. Owner and his family are wonderful nomad people, we are very gratefull for the hospitality:) It is worth noticing that you need 4x4 car to get there yourself as it is in the middle of the desert:) the owner also offers transport and off road car assistance at additional cost, but it is worth it! Enjoy the beauty and the silence of the desert!

“Breathtaking & authentic experience.”

We came to Foum Zguid in hope to visit the Sahara and see the nomads living for a few days. Our expectations were not only met, but exceeded. The hosts picked us up with their 4*4 Car in Foum Zguid, to bring us to the accomodation, which was already in the middle of nowhere. They were heartwarmingly welcoming from the first second. For the next two days, the both of them were our private Guides through the Iriki Desert. They brought us to so many beautiful and authentic places. We visited a Berber Nomad Family for Lunch, saw a stunning Oasis and spent a Night in a Nomad tent surrounded by the biggest dunes in Morocco. We ate a lot of good Tajines and the next day, they brought us back to Foum Zguid. It was one of the greatest experiences we ever had and we will for sure come back to enjoy the quietness of the Desert with our new made friends again. Thank you so much again!
