The Balzac Hotel is an 18th-century mansion, located in the heart of the historic district of Fougères. Its individually decorated rooms have satellite TV and free Wi-Fi internet access. The hotel has an excellent location in the centre of town, the room had everything we required and was very clean, the breakfast was delicious, and staff was very friendly.

Small, hotel in the centre of the town within walking distance of all the main sights. There is free on street parking a short walk away.

Hotel was OK and they had a place for our bicycles. Staff were OK but the chef was really friendly and agreed to make some omelettes for some of the party with dietary requirements.

Very nice classic hotel in the centre of Fougeres. Comfortable beds/rooms. Friendly staff. They have a restaurant serving good-quality reasonably priced food - perfect after a long day travelling. The hotel is right in the centre of town - in a well-kept street with historic buildings. Nice walk to the church, belfry, gardens. Plenty of shops nearby too. Excellent value. Very happy to recommend.

The location is great! On a hill. The defensive medieval castle is interesting. We ate at Les vins et une fourchette and it was the best dinner of our vacation. (for meat lovers)
