Perfect location, good price. It is an old, but iconic building, with old style furniture. The personnel is very nice. Great if you just spend there one night before your flight/departure.

Good location and interesting architecture of the hotel. The roof top area had a lovely view and the location is very central. There is an interesting local crowd outside the hotel and having a drink and chat with them was lovely.

You don't really need the A/C in room because there is a constant flow of fresh breeze from the nearby park which we loved. Despite not being able to speak French, the staff were very friendly.

Very small and old room. No refrigerator in room. No hair dryer. Very noisy from other rooms, gangway and from outside. No glasses only paper cups.

Even though I had paid through booking.com, the hotel charged me double the money, saying that they had not received the money from booking.com and can't stay overnight, if I don´t pay. The next day they admitted receiving money and promised to refund. It has been a month and despite my repeated calls and emails - complete silence and no money. Booking.com is also not responding. I am very disappointed with this attitude from both the hotel and booking.com. By the way, the air conditioner was halfway above the bed and the bed was quite wet. We had to sleep on one side of the bed.

“L'lmpereatrice - the empress of Fort-de-France”

It's a classic hotel in Fort-de-France overlooking La Savane Park, near La Francaise Plage & much else. Fabulous restaurant La Joséphine on the 2nd floor - well worth going to. Very nice classical entrance, reception & café area with tables outside too.

We liked the location near the port, where we arrived by ferry from Saint Lucia. It is also close to everything in the center—shops and restaurants are all around. We liked the spirit of this old hotel, even the things that others criticize (such as noise from the street caused by local drumming). We take that as part of the Caribbean experience. The room itself was clean, with a balcony where we drank beer that we bought at the bar on the ground floor.

Original 1950’s building. I had a big room on the 5th floor (better than the room I had when I stayed a month ago)
