Fontevraud Located in the Saint Lazare Priory of the historic Royal Abbey of Fontevraud, in the heart of the Loire Valley between Touraine and Anjou, Fontevraud L'Ermitage is a non-air-conditioned establishment that offers free WiFi and on-site parking. “What a treat to stay in this gorgeous hotel!”
Such an unusual and gorgeous place to stay. Be sure and walk in the gardens on the o'clock as you will be treated to the beautiful sound of bell ringing from different bells dotted throughout the grounds. Truly amazing. The hotel is beautiful and staff friendly and helpful. Strive hard to be eco-friendly with no plastic. Didn't get to try the Mitchelin starred restaurant. It is only open Wednesday-Sunday and is fully booked months in advance.

The hotel is excellent and being in the grounds of the Abbey itself one had privileged extended access to the Abbey. We visited the Plantagenet tombs late in the evening after the public had left. We first visited the Abbey twenty years ago. The scale and scope of the restoration work that has been carried out is of the highest quality, truly astonishing.

“A great family stay”

“A Dream Come True...”
Perfect location for visiting the Abbey...unlimited entry until midnight was a fantastic experience!Finally seeing Eleanor and Henry,Richard and Isabella without hordes of people was amazing ! The room was spacious as was the bathroom. Modern ,comfortable and spotlessly clean with attention to sustainability. Breakfast was delicious in an amazing setting.
