Cleanliness in the apartment, comfort, the availability of everything necessary for everyday living (all kitchen utensils were provided), the breathtaking sea view, and the friendliness and attentiveness of the charming Penelope (the apartment owner) — all of this made our vacation unforgettable. Nearby, there are some very nice taverns you can visit (three of them within walking distance). A free beach with sunbeds is located right next to the apartment (it belongs to the Dolphin tavern). There’s also a mini market nearby, which, in addition, offers very stylish items and great souvenirs. And in the evening, you can enjoy music from a nearby hotel.

The location and view are amazing. Penelope is a very, very kind host. We forgot the key inside and we're not able to enter. She came in the night to help us. Thank you, Penelope! Also, the mattress and pillows are excellent! The tavern next to the apartment makes your stay there easier and delicious. I hope next summer to be back!

“Spotless, comfortable and in an idyllic location, literally on the beach near a taverna.”

We had a wonderful greeting when we arrived early during cleaning and met Pinilopi. The property was spotless. And we had a gift of enough fabulous grapes to see us through our stay. I bought breakfast ingredients and cooked breakfast when I didn't eat at the nearby taverna. The property has good A/C, it is literally on the beach and has a most convenient public shower nearby to allow entering sand-less. We found it ideal because it has parking on the small approach road outside the door. The 2 x local tavernas are 20 metres away but there is no noticeable noise impact. They have sunbeds for their customers, free at the nearest taverna, Niko's. There is also a small shop nearby. It is a clean, welcoming studio with a beachside balcony which is open to the beach at the quieter end of the beach where the sea is 20 metres away. Also, Fodele itself is a short drive inland and we had a good meal at a non-beachside taverna, priced for locals.

The apartment is fabulous, clean, and right on the best part of the beach, close to a quiet taverna and free sun loungers and umbrellas. From the rooms, you can watch the sun set directly over the sea. It's an ideal place for a relaxing holiday, yet strategically located for exploring Crete. Two other tavernas are within 100 meters, and more can be found in the village of Fodele, just 3 km away. Special thanks to Penelope, who welcomed us with kindness, generosity, and discretion. 10!

“Great little beach apartment!”

Great location right on the beach. Just what we wanted. Studio was very clean and well laid out. The bed was queen sized and very comfortable. Wonderful sunsets sitting on our deck facing the sea. The owner, Penelope, checked on us daily to make sure everything was okay. She brought us oranges from her orchard that we made into delicious orange juice. It was a relaxing 10 days swimming and eating at the taverna right on the beach.

“Great apartment directly on the beach”

The beach just in front of our terrace was amazing. Thank you for bringing us fruits and raki, which both was delicious. The apartment has everything you need and although small it was enough space for us. We loved falling asleep and waking up with the sound of the waves.

“Fantastic location, good clean apartment, very reasonable price”

An absolute gem in a fantastic location. Pinelope was a very warm and welcoming host who checked in daily to make sure we had everything we needed. Her knowledge of the local area and amenities was very helpful for our visit. The apartment is actually on the beach in a quiet corner further round the bay from the main resort so excellent for sunbathing or a swim, with an extra outdoor shower so rinse off when needed. It was a self catering stay and there was adequate facilities for cooking and food storage. There is a full size fridge with freezer, 3 ring electric hob and oven/ grill with all the essential pans, crockery and utensils you might need- no microwave but we rarely use one. There are no food shops in the immediate area so a car is useful or you may find you have to walk a couple of miles for grocery shopping. The restaurant next door served excellent traditional food at reasonable prices so we were happy to eat out most nights, and they let you use the sunbeds during the day for no cost. The apartment was very clean with a comfortable bed, outside patio area on the beach side and a smart tv so we could even log in to our apps and watch a movie when we wanted a quiet night in after a busy day out. We would definitely stay again, thank you so much Pinelope for making our stay so wonderful x

Right on the beach. You were able to hear the waves all the time. Couldn't get a location better than this. There are 3 restaurants nearby, but actually ate only the one next to the property, dolphin, simple and tasty food. The studio is equipped with everything you might need for the kitchen. Perfect location to just relax.

“Perfect for a couple”

It was amazing, the host even gave us some fresh vegetables and fruit. The only thing i advise is to rent a car if you want to visit other beaches, go to the supermarket or simply go out for dinner because it’s a bit far away

Proximity to the beach, the apartment is right on the beach. The apartment is well equipped, we didn't miss anything. We recommend renting a car for the entire stay due to the possibility of visiting other parts of the island, monuments and restaurants in other locations, if three restaurants on the beach are not enough for you :-) Very good communication with the landlady.

“Comfortable stay right on the beach”

We rented 2 apartments as we are a family of 4. The property is right on the beach near 2 Taverns and a mini market/gift shop where you can find great food, super service and the bare essentials. The beach itself is nice, and once you get over the rocky part where the waves break it is sandy and doesn’t get too deep too fast. It was great for the kids. There are ample umbrellas and beach chairs at the two taverns but you could also just sit on the porch of the apartment! The apartments were both equipped with much needed air conditioning, they were clean and modern and included all the essential equipment. We enjoyed the location as it is less busy than the other beaches, but we did rent a car to explore a wider area of Crete.

“PERFECT”

Everything, we can not fault this little gem of an apartment. The bed comfy, the amenities perfect, shower powerful. Pinelopi the owner left us a spotlessly clean apartment, full of everything we could need including some welcoming Raki water and a home grown melon. Lovely lady who could not do enough for us perfect. Now the location STUNNING, picture postcard position right on the beach, every time you step outside onto your patio you are one step away from the gorgeous beach. BEAUTIFUL

“Perfect!!!”

Right on the beach, quiet, we only heard the sound of the waves. Cool, even without using the AC, the apartment was ventilated perfectly. Attached is a tavern with local flavors and very reasonable prices, offering free sunbeds, where many locals come. For the lazy people, within 50x50 meters, you have everything you need for a perfect holiday. The host and the people around deserve a score of 20. The kitchenette is fully equipped, but theoretically unnecessary because of the tavern...

Location was amazing, right on the beach. Two tavernas were next to apartmant within 100 m, serving delicious local foods. Main road and bus station close so with bus was easy to get to Heraklion and Rethymno cities,

Location is stunning and the property itself is amazing. Tidy and modern interior with incredible air conditioning which made coming inside from the heat extremely refreshing. The dolphin taverna right beside the apartment is top tier.

Couldn't believe our luck, this little place is a real gem, beautiful beach right on the doorstop, outstanding apartment, very friendly host,who left us treats. Thank you again Penelope. Bedding, towels etc was spotless as well as the apartment. Just the right place for us, private, quiet. Air conditioning, provided, cooker, kettle, plates etc for making your food. Local bus was great, travelled to herkion no problems,, hired a car 5 days to travel about different places but car ended up outside 2 days as we just chilled at the apartment/beach. Weather was very warm Great family owned restaurant Dolphin travern just up abit, again friendly staff, owners. Food is top notch, best place at fodele beach. 5 stars The sound of the waves at night was heaven. Very romantic I thought. Hoping to book again soon.

Lovely apartment right on the beach. Beautiful bay. There are 3 very nice Tavernas on the doorstep and the Fodele Beach Hotel only 5 mins away, where we went to a wedding. Would stay again.
