“incredible view”

The view was exceptional. The apartment was spacious and the balcony amazing. Hosts were friendly even with our very very limited spanish. Shops to buy supplies in the town at reasonable prices. Close to Tikal and Flores (45-60 mins each)

Everything was great and the staff were super helpful and had great communication.

Casa Alemán was my favourite guesthouse in all of Guatemala. The view from the rooms is spectacular. The amenities are great. Most importantly, the owners are one of the most hospitable people I've ever met. They are genuinely interested in your wellbeing as a guest and will help you out with whatever you need. I hope to be able to return there one day. Thank you for this amazing stay!

One of our favourite places we stayed in our trip around Latin America. Wish we had stayed longer. The photos don’t do it justice, the space is lovely to relax in, the hosts are friendly and speak good English.

Everything is beautiful, clean and homely. The view of the lake and the sunset is amazing. The kitchen is a great facility.

We had a lovely stay at Casa Aleman. Host Detlev and his family welcomed us heartily and were very kind. The place was wonderful with a very comfortable bed, nice shower and of course the amazing terrace with hammock. The view over the lake was spectacular, and perfect for watching the sun set. We very much enjoyed our stay, so much so, that we returned a week later for 2 additional nights. Highly recommend Thank you Detlev & family!

Large and clean, good quality construction details. Beautiful view. Nice little kitchen to prepare an evening meal and enjoy the sunset. Nice touch to have an Italian stove top coffee pot ( and coffee) and complimentary water.

The owner was very friendly. The room and facilities were excellent. Spacious, modern and clean. The view is spectacular!

“Stunning place to stay in El Remate”

From start to finish our hosts Milvia Pineda and Dethlev Cordts had thought of everything to make our stay enjoyable. Fresh coffee, water, washing facilities, kitchen utensils, travel wash were all on hand. Great balcony area with stunning views. They had thought of everything. We decided to stay an extra day as it was so nice! Close to Tikal without the hustle and bustle of Flores. Made us feel like part of the family. On our last night the ladies cooked us fresh fish dinner with a bottle of wine. Great walk nearby at the Biotope. Can't recommend enough! There is a walk up a little hill to get there so bear this in mind! Well worth it for the sunsets swinging in the hammock! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts ladies!

“Beautiful garden room.”

The room is in a peaceful location. Amazing views from the terrace adjoining the room. Lovely hammock to relax in. The host is friendly welcoming and helpful. The whole property is in a beautiful garden surrounded by lush jungle. It's the perfect place to stay to visit Tikal and Yaxha Temples and to explore Lake Peten Itza. Highly recommend staying here.

“Lovely stay next to Tikal with amazing hosts and jungle feeling”

We had a lovely and warm stay. The small cottage is outside the main house and feels like being in the jungle. Basic facilities but included everything what was needed. The hosts are super chill and great to talk to. We learned a lot about the Mayan culture and coffee production since both of them are involved. Even though being sick during the stay, we got amazing support and help whenever needed. Thanks for everything, it was an unforgettable experience.

The view and tranquility of this property is the absolute highlight! The apartment is super spacious and modern. It is nice to stay a little outside of Flores (and just spend a few hours there) and you are closer to Tikal and Jaxha from El Remate (for us it was possible to get picked up here as well by tours). It is a more local experience. The owners are very nice and flexible.

“Too noisy and basic for us”

Basic, but clean

I've lived in Guatemala 14 years and traveled many places. This hotel is the most comfortable and relaxing of all the hotels I have stayed in. I recommend it to people who like quiet and peace. * People who like noisy and crowded places might not like it.

“Beautiful and spacious room with lake views”

Beautiful and spacious room/apartment with a good view of the lake. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. The owners were friendly and very helpful. Would recommend and would return. The property was a little walk up a steep hill but it's worth it for the views of the lake.

“Tremendous, amazing, loving, family”

Casa aleman is an amazing place. The views from the terrace are breathtaking, especially during sunset. Even better than the place are the two hosts. Amazing is a word which doesnt describe the full extent of their beings. Whatever we needed, whichever wish we had, the fulfilled it even before we could say it out loud. They invited us for dinner and helped us widening our horizons and discuss about life in all its facets and entanglements. If we are in Guatemala again, our first destination is the Casa Aleman! The two of them know more about Tikal and Guatemala than any guide could have told us. Do me favor and visit casa aleman :) Thank you for everything, you made us feel like we are a part of your family.

“Wished I could have stayed longer.”

Great and engaging hosts. The location in the nature and the great view of the lake. Huge room with kitchen. Natural airco (no windows to stop wind but mosquito nets). Breakfast.

Wonderful hosts and one of the best accommodations we've stayed in over 10 years visiting central America. The room is large with big windows and a 400 Sq foot balcony that looks out over the lake from up the hillside where it's located. Excellent a/c and wifi. The bathroom is spacious with good hot water and a large long king-size bed. A basic kitchen and refrigerator are located on the covered balcony. Finally, the view is amazing
