See through curtains don’t block lights at all. It felt like you might fall through the spongy floor of the tub.

There was no cooking untinsils and they was supposed to be. We had one wash rag for four people. paint coming off the wall holes in the wall.

We liked the fact that we were moved from an unsuitable room to an upstairs one, but on the whole there was not much to celebrate. The upstairs room was the room we actually booked .

The location of the Topaz Hotel is good, a short way south from the Flager Beach pier (now permanently closed due to hurricane damage). The young man who checked us in, Jay, was very nice. When we came back to him and said that the lights over the beds in the room he assigned us did not work—and there was no lamp on the table between the beds, so it would have been very dark in the room in the evenings—he immediately gave us the room next door to it. We were happy to change rooms as there were crumbs on one of the beds and someone had used the toilet and although they flushed, the toilet paper was on the toilet seat rather than in the toilet.

I really enjoyed the location of the Motel which was very close to the beach and the ocean. The room size was perfect aswell and exceeded my expectations.

Location was good... Did not see any bed bugs or roaches. Facilities definitely very old, but looked like they were clean. Did not see any mold but did smell musty. We were able to park the car right outside the sliding door so we were able to keep an eye on it. It was very quiet, and no one disturbed us at all. Did not hear any road traffic. Felt safe walking on the road and around the hotel.
