This accommodation is very isolated but lovely. Old homestead which has been tastefully renovated. Our room had a bath which was a treat. Host was very friendly We had a meal in the house with other guests - nice to have a "home cooked meal". The local fish wasn't our thing, but the experience was. About 2 km down the no exit road was a glacier - very impressive & a nice walk or drive away.

Roster Gjestegard is a restored farmhouse from the 1800’s. Our room was very comfortable, the dining room exquisite, and offers a nice outdoor sitting area. Andre prepared a fantastic traditional Norwegian dinner and was overall a great host!

Absolutely everything about our visit here was perfect in every way. It's an utterly stunning setting within walking or short driving distance of the most gorgeous overlook for a dramatic glacier/waterfall/creek .. We were lucky enough to catch the glacier calving twice in our brief visit which is always super cool to experience. The accommodation itself is incredibly charming and beautifully maintained on a sweet little farm style homestead that has been in the same family for centuries.. They have done an extraordinary job at renovating it to where it is modern and comfortable, yet retains all of the historic charm and architecture as well, which is not an easy balance to attain. The family that runs it (mother/father/son and even grandma who bakes homemade yummies for breakfast) are the nicest, warmest people .. They offer a dinner option which I highly recommend opting into that is served family style in the dining room and was wonderful .. Absolutely loved our visit and can't recommend it enough .. There's also a glacier museum about a ten minute drive away that is worth a stop on the front or back side if you are so inclined .. Definitely don't hesitate to book here as it was one of our favorite accommodations in our 2.5 week road trip through Norway and that's saying a lot since Norway overall has some really awesome options accommodation wise and value for dollar at this one is extremely high as well. 🥰😍

“Cosy stay in renovated farm with super host”

Very well renovated old farm close to Fjærland; the room was cosy and clean, with a comfortable bathroom with a huge shower. The host and his family were really nice and a pleasure to speak to. Also, great breakfast

This is a gem: The owners have remodeled an old farm into this hotel that has so much charm and the whole experience calmly says: Authenticity. If you are looking for a courtyside guesthouse with just nature to surround you, this is the place.

The location off the beaten track but within easy reach of glacier viewing. The owner was friendly and welcoming. Quirky and comfortable accommodation. Made a welcome change from touristy hotels.

This was one of our very favorite places to stay during our two-week trip in Norway. It's in an absolutely gorgeous location. The dinner we booked in advance was fantastic, as was the breakfast. It's in a historic house. The hosts are lovely, including their adorable teenage son (sorry, I shouldn't say adorable, now he's going to be embarrassed). Our room was so beautifully and tastefully restored, as were the public areas. I was looking at all the repainted woodwork and getting ideas for color schemes. After breakfast, the host recommended a lovely walk to the nearby glacier view. Everything was absolute perfection.
