Overview
Situated on a peninsula of Lake Lersjön, this property is 5 minutes’ walk from central Filipstad. It offers free Wi-Fi and access to 3 fully equipped kitchens, a communal TV lounge and small, sandy beach. Basic cottage and guest room accommodation is provided at Munkebergs Stugor & Vandrarhem, all with shared bathroom facilities. Some include an in-room washbasin or lake-view patio. Bicycles, canoes, along with a sauna are available to rent on site. Munkeberg also has a children’s playground, guest computer, row boat, as well as a jetty on Lake Lersjön. Guests can prepare their own meals in one of the communal kitchens. Hiking in the Högbergsfältet mining area, downhill skiing at Dammhöjden and the Kalhyttan activity centre are all within 1 km of the property. The closest grocery store is about 500 metres away.

“A decent hostel”
Friendly staff, good value for money. Practical with kitchen. It looks good for summer vacation with the lake right beside the hostel (we stayed in winter though). The room was clean.

Everything was just great: location, comfort, cleanliness, staff, views. There is possibility to book a sauna, to make BBQ and get a boat. Fantastic place!

Perfect place for a quick stopover (it was March and snowing!), very warm and cosy with kitchen and living room to use. Can imagine its lovely in the summer with the lake.

“Perfect holiday spot with beautiful scenery”
We were a group of friends with kids travelling to Filipstad in June 2021. We stayed at the three bedroom villa for two nights. The villa was beautiful and very comfortable for all of us. It right by the lake and has everything you need. The owner, Martin, was super sweet and helpful, he arranged for tables with umbrella outside for us to eat and relax. The villa was very spacious and clean. The kitchen was well equipped. The place is really well maintained and the views are stunning. Highly recommend this place.

“Lovely lakeside YHA”
Well situated by a lake (free fishing from the jetty, but we didn't catch any :-), sauna by the lake and swimming but when it's warmer) Great location for mining museum and Persberg, great walks nearby. Wasa museum/factory outlet etc. Decently equipped kitchen (we seem to have been the only ones actually using the dining room, so very nice and quiet). Room very tidy and fresh, tap and sink in the room, shower right next door. Big ICA and LIDL 10 mins walk away.
