“You will never want to leave”

Everything! This is such a comfortable, well set-up property with lovely welcoming hosts in Margret and Christian that you won't want to leave. Faulensee is a small village outside Spiez so getting anywhere else by public transport does need a bit of planning... but it is ALL possible and not difficult to do: Bern, Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen, Grindelwald, Jungfraujoch are very manageable day trips. Plus there is the whole of Thunersee to explore. Oh, and there are chickens.

We stayed over for a week. After sightseeing whole day we felt like coming home. It’s right next to train line so can be noisy for few . Didn’t bother us much. Kitchen was well equipped. Sufficient towels & mattress was comfortable. Owners were quite generous to pick us up from bus stop as we had lot of luggage & small infant.

A lovely apartment a short walk from the town and facilities. Spotlessly clean and has everything you will need for a comfortable stay. The hosts are lovely and very helpful. It is near the trainline as the name suggests but this did not both us at all. Highly recommended

😽😽😽The most perfect accommodation I've ever had in Europe!!! Both hosts were very warm and friendly, the eggs and raspberries were delicious, the room was large, comfortable, and clean, with plenty of towels and bath towels, and there were cute plush decorations... Most importantly, the view from the window was beautiful, located in a lovely town, and you could see the beautiful Thunersee as you stepped outside! You can also wake up to the sound of roosters crowing in the morning... So romantic!

The hosts were incredibly kind and the appartment had everything one could need for a stay. They also let my partner stay longer when my workshop finished at 6pm on the check-out day so she didn’t need to leave too early. Will definitely stay here again when needed to come back to the region!

Margret is a perfect host, which makes this place just like home. 1. Fresh fruit, chocolate bar, ear plug and even the kitchenware for fondue were provided in the room. 2. Room is super clean. 3. The apartment is easy to be reached by bus from Spiez train station.

The location was 10/10 with a nice view of Lake Thun just outside the property. The host was super nice and easy to communicate with and the place was overall well equipped and clean

We had an absolutely wonderful stay, thanks to our incredibly kind and considerate hosts. From the moment we arrived, they went above and beyond to ensure we felt at home and comfortable. Their attention to detail and genuine care made our stay not just convenient but truly memorable. They provided helpful recommendations, accommodated our needs promptly, and even added thoughtful touches that made all the difference. During our journey to Switzerland, our train was delayed, and they kindly insisted on picking us up from the station. One day when we returned home, we found that they had thoughtfully left some fresh eggs for us at the doorstep. It’s rare to find such warm and hospitable people, and we are grateful for their efforts. We highly recommend staying here and look forward to returning in the future!

I loved how the property was decorated & had everything that you would have at home so it felt very convenient. Margreth and Christian were wonderful hosts and were very accommodating, for example with drying racks and extension cords. It was a pleasure meeting them and staying in their wonderful home.

The place is a little gem of Faulensee. We really enjoyed staying at Margaret and Christian’s apartment. It was probably one of the best equipped properties we have stayed in so far. It was like moving in to your own home with all the things that you would ever need/want. The apartment was lovely, fresh and clean and was very secure with your own parking space. Great communication with Margaret and Christian throughout our stay. All in all, highly recommended!

“A scale of ten does not capture what is in store for you!”

A perfect place to get away from the tourist crowds: Griesalp is close by and the trails provide access or are in a UNESCO World Heritage area. We almost had the alpine garden trail to ourselves. You can enjoy the stunning waterfall on the Aescheried Sudtal trail. In terms of the accommodations, the kitchen was exceptional, the host charming and the facilities impeccable.

Breath taking view and environment Very cozy place that makes you feel like home Super well equipped with all necessary utensils and cutlery. There are spices , oil and condiments in the kitchen that we can use for cooking. Very friendly and hospitable owner.

Margaret and Christian’s hospitality and kindness is unrivalled. The converted railways station added to the charm and beauty surrounding us. It was magical and truly one of our favourite places to stay at!!

“Cosy and comfy studio in Faulensee”

It was very cosy and fully equipped. And it was VERY clean 😊 The owners are very kind and thoughtful. They even have a fruit bowl prepared for us and some delicious Swiss chocolate beside the bed plus earplugs 😉 They also provided an adaptor for us since we forgot to bring one. There’s parking big enough with electric chargers for those with EV.

Everything. Super clean and feel like staying home. The host and hostess are very kind. You could reach to the place by the various post busses. The place is much more than what you see from the photos.

Everything was perfect.. We had instructions on how to enter. Later we met the hostess, she is amazing woman. She dropped us to the nearby shop to do some shopping. Thank you so much again for your help ❤️The apartment has everything you need, including several types of coffee. They had left us fruit, and in the evening the hostess gave us eggs straight from the chicken coop. Perfect location. We didn't have a car, but there is a bus stop nearby. The train station can be reached in a few minutes.

This converted train station is very charming. This apartment has everything you would ever need. Fully equipped with very good appliances. Also, oil, salt, pepper, sugar. Everything. We have stayed at well over 100 holiday apartments around the world and rarely have we found a kitchen and bathroom so well stocked. It is much bigger than we expected. Nice beds. Small but good shower. Good wifi. Parking on site. Great location in this charming village. Supermarket within walking distance. Location requires a car. A great base for visiting all the area has to offer in a quiet rural setting. As always it is the small details that make the difference. The very warm welcome from Christian and Margret - wonderful human beings. The fruit in the kitchen. The chocolate next to the bed. Like being welcomed by family or old friends. Also earplugs on the bedside tables. Which completely resolved the noise from the trains passing at night.

Everything. We were warmly welcome by our host Margreth to her very clean & homey holiday apartment. 5 out of 5 stars! We'll definitely stay here again for our next Swiss trip.
