We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The owners are very kind and even provided a welcome cake! The location is excellent—only a 10-minute drive to Garmisch.

Beautiful wood panelling in the room and lots of space. Kettle available in request and owners very helpful and happy to put ice blocks in the freezer. Great WiFi and easy parking.

“This hotel cheat customer with pictures of beautiful, luxury, modern rooms. It's a Trap!”

We booked a double room for 2 nights stay at Hotel Föhrenhof. Anyway, when we checked-in at the hotel, the owner ( an old man ) brought us to an apartment buliding which located behind the hotel. He showed us a simple and basic double room which located on the 1st floor of the apartment. After giving us the key, he left. We were shocked to see the room and realised that it was NOT the hotel room we booked. We walked back to the hotel and tried to discuss with the owner. He was extremely unfriendly and talked very rude. When we told him it was NOT the room we booked, the room looked totally different from the pictures shown on booking.com. It was also not the room shown on the confirmation. He was angry and said to us, "This is my hotel, I knew every room better than you, Ok?, your room is 26, my hotel is fully booked, I cannot change for you, all the pictures are only for reference, OK! Good night, good night, Finish! OK!" then, he just walked away and left us alone at the reception. We could not do anything and just walked back to the apartment building, feeling disappointed, angry, shock and could not believe what had happened to us! It is just like a nightmare! The next morning and also the following days, we always notice "Zimmerfrei" ( Rooms vacant ) sign hung in front of the hotel. It was very clear that the hotel was NOT fully booked as the owner mentioned. Summary - This hotel try to cheat customers by posting pictures of luxury, beautiful and modern rooms / apartments on booking.com. You book a luxury double room but when you arrive at the hotel, the owner will bring you to a room at a different building ( apartment building ) which located behind the hotel. If you try to discuss, the owner will start to shout at you and then walk away! You can't do anything but have to pay and stay inside a simple, basic room that is NOT what you booked! This is what happened to us and made us feel extremely bad and it ruined our holiday!

- very friendly owner, he gave us a warm welcome with home made cheese cake/cream - no kitchen in the room, but at the reception we were given few dishes, cups and cutlery for the stay - room was amazing with a view to the mountains - room was modernized recently, really nice and large bathroom - perfect location, quiet village with a train station, 10 minutes drive to Garmisch, less than 5 minutes walking distance to a beautiful park with a waterfall - free of charge hotel parking

“Nice hotel in a quiet neighborhood - just a few annoying things during our visit”

We had a large room in the ground floor with private entrance. The room was unique in its design and the cleaning was immaculate. There are plenty of parking places in the front of the hotel and the nearest restaurants is 5min walk away. Quiet during night time. We were greeted with complimentary butter brezels.

The hotel’s architecture and interior design are truly exceptional, capturing the timeless charm of a classic Bavarian estate. Our room offered a marvelous view that served as a perfect backdrop to the stay. Furthermore, the reception team was incredibly welcoming and maintained clear, professional communication throughout our visit.
