“Lovely, welcoming stay in Xiding”

Great location, right by the bus stop to/from Alishan and Chiayi so easy to get to both spots. Also walking distance to the Tea and Mist trail and Eryanping trail. Good sized room, Japanese toilet and a bath! Huge, varied breakfast to set you up for the day and the most wonderful hosts offering tea tasting and a chat via google translate! They also drove us to the sunset and were always on hand to help out if we had any questions.

Great location. Walking distance to various tracking points. Room is just nice for 2 of us. Breakfast was prepared by lady boss, very delicious.

The friendly and helpful owner couple and the homely setting of the property. The excellent location is conveniently accessible by buses to Jiayi and Fengqihu.

“When visiting Alishan, why not also visit David, and his house...”

The hosts are just lovely! Never met David, but his parents are the absolute bees-knees! I was late arriving, and when the bus pulled up outside their house, guess who was already waiting for me with a huge smile? I was then offered a lift to the local eatery, of which there are precious few around (more of that later), and subsequently collected when the restaurant rang them. Extraordinary. I was visiting Alishan National Park, ergo my 2 night stay at David's House. Overall, the sum here is much greater than the individual parts that are, David's House. On my travels, I occasionally come across an establishment whereby normal rules simply do not apply. You can see from the attached pics what the room and hotel was physically, actually like. However, you may also be able to deduce from the various smiles, what the essence of David's House is all about. If I returned, I would certainly stay here, I would just bring some extra provisions for late night feasts as I'm not accustomed to going to my bed too early. Just me... Highly Recommended.

“Special Sunrises, Tea Sampling and Amazing Hosts”

Breakfast was amazing - it differed each morning, with great variety of dishes and more than enough food. Hosts were very lovely, kind and helpful - they didn't have much english but are excellent on google translate. They organised hot pot booking for us at a nearby hotel/restaurant (excellent), told us where to find a good sunrise that was 5 minutes down the road and did a lovely tea sampling (tea was delicious) with us while we talked via translate. Would recommend staying here.

“Good location, friendly owners”

Best thing is that the property was right in front of the bus stop. The room with the bunk bed was very nice, the bathroom was spacious and was equipped with a Japanese toilet (with a seat warmer and bidet). The owner provided us with a welcome tea session and recommended us a hotpot place. The portion of the hotpot was alot so depends on your stomach capacity. The owner also would drove us to and fro the dinner place.

The owners were absolutely lovely. Very kind people who are willing to help out with finding the bus to Alishan Recreation Park and always offering some tea and a nice conversation.

local host was very nice and helpful! Breakfast was well prepared, huge portion of Taiwanese flavour Local host recommended dinner places, and also recommended the Aishan route etc. Very helpful. near 7-11, grocery stores.

Everything about it! The owners were very very friendly, welcoming, helpful and generous. Even though we could only communicate very little in Taiwanese, they were very eager to talk to us (sometimes we had to resort to google translate) and always offered us tea which was a very nice way to get to know them and the culture. Accommodation was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was amazing (ask for Taiwanese breakfast). Location is also perfect to the hiking trails! Very recommended!

The owners welcome travellers from the heart and take great care to ensure that you enjoy your stay in Xiding. Dietary needs are considered for a delicious breakfast. The room is spacious and bed is comfortable. Location next to the bus stop with a 24 hr convenience store 100 metres away. The sunrise viewpoint is just down the road while Eryanping is a 40 minute walk. The owners grow and sell tea and it’s great to sit around and have a chat over tea.

“Would recommend for an overnight stay”

Hosts super friendly, clean place, delicious Taiwanese breakfast and we were also able to try some local tea.

The place is clean and spacious. The owners are very help. She helped to fetch our luggages. Give good suggestions of where to go. Teach us how to use bus apps. Which is the best way to get to the HSR station. Her husband went an extra mile to wait and pick us from the Eryanping trail when it got dark and we were not back. They have excellent breakfast. Definitely will stay again .

Very nice place to stay, the hosts are really attentive and lovely and give you a nice introduction to the tea culture in the area. The room and bathroom were really clean, good water pressure and amenities. We got an amazing Taiwanese breakfast too. For dinner, the host drove us to the hot pot restaurant on the other side of town.

We had a great time, handy being right near the bus stop and the hosts are extremely friendly and helpful.

Very friendly owners, they gave a warm welcome. The room was nice, with a good bed and nice shower. Nearby are some trails for hiking with amazing views.
