The food and the welcome service

We chose this hotel in Afyon based on the high ratings on Booking.com, but we were deeply disappointed. The "relaxing getaway" we expected was non-existent from start to finish. Our experience in detail: * Room Condition: The room was unacceptable as it smelled strongly of sewage. It was impossible to feel comfortable or relax with such a persistent, foul odor. * Service & Staff: The staff was not attentive at all. When we asked for a second room key, we were flatly refused—an absolutely baffling lack of basic service for any modern hotel. * Spa Area: A wellness hotel without towels? On our second day, the spa area had completely run out of towels. In a thermal destination like Afyon, this is a major organizational failure. * Extra Charges: To top it off, we were even charged extra for Turkish coffee. Given the prices and the „all inclusive“ booking, this should have been a standard courtesy, not an added cost. Conclusion: The reality on-site does not reflect the positive online reviews at all. The service is poor, the hygiene (odor) is questionable, and the hospitality is lacking. We will definitely not be returning.

Unfortunate Incident on the First Day Upon our arrival, we experienced an embarrassing situation when we were mistakenly accused of needing to pay for an additional person in the restaurant. We were escorted back to reception, only to discover that the room in question was not ours. While the staff were apologetic, the incident left us feeling humiliated and uncomfortable. Smoking Policy Concerns Despite Turkish law prohibiting smoking in closed spaces, the hotel seems to consider a retractable roof an exception. This leads to smoking in areas that should be smoke-free, which is not only unpleasant but also illegal. Meanwhile, the staff strictly enforce swimming hat rules, but fail to challenge smoking violations. The outdoor pool area, unfortunately, is littered with cigarette butts, reflecting poor maintenance in this regard. Miscommunication with Guest Relations Guest relations attempted to address our concerns by offering a late check-out as a goodwill gesture. However, this was not communicated to reception, resulting in us being locked out of our room. The explanation provided for this oversight was almost comical and only added to our frustration. The hotel is very spacious and clean. Pools are amazing. Staff is friendly and helpful. They are extra welcoming for booking customer. They gave free room upgrade. Everything was amazing.
