We spent a wonderful time in this place surrounded by lush greenery, feeling like we were in the heart of the wild. Everything was exceptionally clean and well maintained, and the food was outstanding every day. The hosts were incredibly kind and made us feel at home.

“Special stay, lovely family”

This was one of the best stays we’ve ever had in all of our travels. Suresh and his family are lovely, they are so kind and generous and get out of their way to help their guests. They provided us with dinner and breakfast (which was the best Sri Lankan food we have had in the country) and we also cooked together one evening for us to learn some of the recipes. Suresh is also a tuk tuk driver so can help with the transport to Ella and further sites. He’s very honest with prices too. The location is immersed in nature and so relaxing, and the room was comfortable and clean. We wish we had stayed longer and will definitely recommend this stay to anyone who visits Ella!

“Home away from home in the hills of Ella”

This is a gem of a homestay with incredible views, local hikes, and the nicest host family. Our friend stayed here last year and heavily recommended it to us and now we can see why! The room was very clean and private, with it's own bathroom. The home-cooked breakfasts and dinners were really delicious, with generous portions. Being outside of Ella town itself was a real blessing as it's pretty busy, although Suresh has his own TukTuk so he can take you there in no time if you want to go (or get picked up). We spent hours walking the hills, starting from Nature's Rest, and you can even walk all the way to Little Adam's Peak (with some scenic detours) if you really want to extend your hike! The family also recommended a few local waterfalls that were great for swimming in. When we were heading to our next stop in Tangalle, Suresh drove us all the way and showed us many great sights and experiences along the way, turning what could have been a tiring day of travel into even more great memories of Sri Lanka. This family were so incredibly welcoming - getting to know them individually was lovely and after 5 days we were really sad to leave. We will definitely stay here next time we return to Sri Lanka, thanks for everything Suresh!

Everything! Firstly the location in the jungle as it were, surrounded by birds trees and with exceptional views. Then the place, simple and clean. Finally, and most importantly, suresh and his family. The most respectful, welcoming and accommodating people I have met. The food was very good and natural. Suresh came and fetched me and took me on a great day trip.

“Lovely place”

Lovely family and welcoming host. The room is comfortable with nice warm shower for cold weather in Ella. Location is a bit away from Ella town, we have a car though it’s bit difficult to follow the instruction when driving in the rain at night. The instruction was clear, just need to be more aware on the road. It’s really nice to wake up in the mountain with birds singing. Suresh had many good recommendation for where and when to go like the train time for nine arch bridge. The traditional breakfast was so good we enjoyed our stay with the lovely family!

We stayed at Nature’s Rest for a couple of days during New Year, and we had an absolutely wonderful stay! The family is the most welcoming, kind and generous, and we felt like home from the moment we entered. They took wonderful care of us and our children, took us around and explained the area and prepared delicious homemade meals, which were one of the best we had in Srilanka. This place is truly special. Hidden in the middle of the jungle, it is owned by the kindest, warmest family. I arrived feeling unwell after catching a cold, and from the very first moment they took care of me like family — bringing me natural medicine, preparing hot water, checking on me to make sure I was okay. Even though the road to the place isn’t suitable for cars, it never felt like an inconvenience. The owner kindly picked us up and dropped us off at the main road, always with a smile. Breakfast was delicious and prepared with so much love. What stayed with me the most was the genuine kindness of the people. I felt safe, cared for, and completely at home. The owner also shared so many helpful recommendations for Sri Lanka. I couldn’t recommend it more.

An absolutely amazing homestay, surrounded by nature. Suresh and his family are incredibly kind. The meals and breakfast were excellent, prepared with lots of fresh ingredients from the garden. The whole family took great care of us. The room was very comfortable and clean. Suresh gave us excellent advice for sightseeing and organizing the next part of our trip. It’s a place where you truly feel at peace ,a real haven of tranquility. We only wish we could have stayed longer than two nights. Thank you again for your warm hospitality.

Amazing experience in Sri Lanka with this honest and humble family and their kindness who helped me a lot with everything I needed. The food was excel.lent and super huge, and the location its in the middle of the nature with jungle, tea fields and animals. The room was very good with hot water and clean. They help me a lot to save money and they didn't want anything in return. I truly recommend them a lot because just the experience there can be a highlight of a trip in Sri Lanka.

I had a super stay at Nature’s Rest, I can understand why they maintain such an amazing rating. Suresh and his family are perfect hosts, taking care of your every need and his wife cooks the most amazing food. I had breakfast and dinner every day. The room is cozy and has what you need for a short stay. It is located about 15 minutes out of the town which is good as there is a lot of traffic. You can take the local bus for 40 rupees or have Suresh take you by tuktuk for a price MUCH better than the others in Ella. If I come back to Ella I will for sure stay here again.

Amazing stay in jungle - seatings in front of your room, singing birds, looking at flowers and plants. Absolutely best hosts in Sri Lanka !!! - sharing tips and healing with travel plan. They asked us how was our day every evening. Whole family including lovely kids came to invite us and shake the hands, the same when we were leaving. Offered tea and coffee. Tasty breakfasts and dinners - everything fresh, delicious, served with love. The owner has his tuk-tuk and brought us to the city when needed. Great place to relax - worth to come even if it is a bit further from the city. Your can escape from Ella rush here. THE KINDEST FAMILY IN ELLA ❤

The hosts are the loveliest family, we felt so welcome and comfortable here. The location is amazing, so beautiful. Its a little drive out of Ella but the views on the way are worth the drive out. The food was great, quality & quantity, a lot of which came straight from their garden! We loved it & stayed an extra night.

“Perfect stay in nature with genuinely nice people”

Nature’s rest is an ideal accommodation for nature lovers. It is surrounded by tea plants, tropical forrest and many wild animals. The family is very hospitable, genuinely nice people, living in simbioze with nature. We ordered dinners and breakfasts and it was amazing! I can easily say it was better than in any restaurants. Everything was prepared fresh with many ingredients coming from their garden. The road there is a bit tricky, I would suggest not hire a tuktuk driver, but it is definitely worth getting there. It is also a walking distance to Little Adam’s peak and 9 arches bridge.
