I arrived at Happy Laugh on a rainy day that lasted two days but thankfully Gamini and his amazing crew I enjoyed Ella even in the cold and grey weather. They take care of me as a family, cook the best coconut roti ever and show me beautiful places around the area. If you like peace and quiet, walk in the jungle and have good people around you this is the right place. Feel very blessed. Thank you to Gamini and his wonderful staff!

I like this place a lot! Away from the city but with stunning views, nice staff and amazing owner. The rooms are clean and spacious and the breakfasts are large and very tasty. Definitely the best place in Ella!

The owner was very frindly. He met himself and offered a cup of coffee. He also accepted my payment in dollars as I arrived late and couldn't exchange money. I was provided with a family room with a private bathroom and was there alone. In the room there was a hair dryer and I didn't have to ask for it. In the morning I was served breakfast with freshly squeezed pineapple juice. Also the host advised how to arrange sightseeing. The inn is withing a walking distance to both the famous bridge and Little Adam's peak, which is extremely good. You can see the train coming early in the morning at 6.30.

The staff were unbelievably helpful. I was taking a train at 6:40am the next morning to get to Colombo airport but had no idea how to go about booking it, so the owner helped organise everything for me, including transport to the train station. He even woke up at 6am to make sure the tuk tuk he’d ordered for me got here. Other than that, the rooms and dorms were very spacious and quite comfortable. I didn’t try the food but it looked and smelt very nice as well. Overall a great experience!
