I had an amazing stay at Funny Lions! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome with complimentary welcome gifts, which was such a thoughtful touch. The mini bar was generously stocked and added to the overall luxury experience. The pool was absolutely stunning—clean, relaxing, and perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. What really stood out was the attention to detail and the surprises throughout our stay. We were delighted to receive lovely gifts before departure, making our experience even more memorable. The service was exceptional, the facilities were excellent, and every member of the team went above and beyond to make us feel special. Great location, short walk to el nido town with lots of restaurants. The staff were the nicest people ever, they knew our names and would greet us every morning and evening. The hotel was really well maintained and had some small luxurious touches that really made the difference.

Excellent staff,clean tidy, pool great. Close to bars and 11 min walk to other end of El Nido beach. No views in back rooms only of pool.

Had such a lovely stay at The Funny Lion. All of the staff were so friendly and beautiful, nearly always greeting us by our names. It was our honeymoon and our room had some Prosecco, cake and music playing when we checked into our room!

Staff made this hotel. So friendly and do anything for you. Always a small on their faces. Especially Kim on reception who was excellent. Hotel's private beach was lovely, a little bit of paradise. However, it is not private to hotel guests as you get a steady visit if tourist boats dropping off tourists for up to an hour at a time.

Awesome hotel with great stuff and a private beach. Rooms and showers are large, bed comfortable, breakfast very good with plenty of options. Stuff was very good. Provided food and drinks were tasty. Recommendation!!

“Well Positioned Hotel, Great Staff, Smallish, Quite Noisy Rooms”

The hotel is just at the end of El Nido's busy main street very busy, so is very well positioned for all the restaurants, bars, etc. We had the usual smiley, friendly service as we arrived and checked in. This friendly service continued throughout our stay. The breakfast buffet had a good choice of options, but we didn't try the lunch or dinner. Overall it's a very nice hotel with extremely friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are just a bit small and noisy and so not dark at night.

The staff are very well trained and go out of there way to make sure all guests are having a pleasant stay. The facilities are clean and the food available either at breakfast or in the hunt restaurant is of top quality.

Our stay at Funny Lion El Nido was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. The hotel is located right in the center of town, yet it feels surprisingly calm and well thought out. Considering the limited space in El Nido, the design is extremely smart—everything feels open, comfortable, and never cramped. What truly sets this hotel apart is the staff. Everyone is genuinely friendly, always smiling, and incredibly helpful. We were especially impressed by how they remembered guests’ names, even though the hotel was fully booked during our entire stay. That level of personal attention makes a real difference. A big highlight was access to their beach spot, Papaya Beach, which they take you to free of charge. The beach is beautiful, relaxed, and has very reasonable prices for food and drinks—an amazing bonus that really elevates the experience. The spa was excellent. We had massages there and they were truly outstanding—one of the best we’ve had on this trip. The rooms were spacious, very clean, and extremely comfortable. Food was also very good, and the laundry service was fast, affordable, and convenient. All in all, this was an exceptional experience. For the price you pay, it’s hard to imagine finding a better option in El Nido. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area
