We loved the relaxed and friendly welcome. So many options to explore and enjoy. We did the farm tour and hike to El Castillo Mirador. We also enjoyed the free yoga sessions and swimming- both in the river and in the pool. The food was excellent for grownups and kids alike. Our little ones were delighted by the playground, the fireflies around the grounds on walks back from dinner, and all the sights and sounds of the gardens and rainforest on our doorstep. This place gets the right balance between adventure and relaxation and is extremely family friendly. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it!

Very quiet, tons of nature, caring employees who love what they do, homegrown organic food including fantastic cheese, yoghurt and butter, homemade bread etc. If you need a place to think, relax or connect with nature this is the place to go. Ricardo at the reception was exceptional!

“Watch out, definitely not 4 stars, rather a backpackers' paradise”

Amazing location in the middle of nature. Friendly staff. Three buffet style meals per day, all good. Two dogs of Rancho Margo are always around and they are cute. Don't miss the ranch guided tour, it is interesting. The bungalow has a nice porch with chairs, a table and a hammock. A good place to watch hummingbirds or other animals that may pop up around the house. After sunset it is really fun to enjoy the sounds of the jungle in complete darkness. The lush garden around you is amazing day and night. This is definitely something you would choose the place for.

“Re-Energized, Inspired and Grateful!”

Oh boy, I'm gonna sound like a complete wacko, but we were inspired by the Mission of the Operation and the kindness of all who shape the Vision. This is a place like no other we have ever experienced. We are always looking for unique experiences, and our 3 night stay would rank at the top. We had just completed 10 sun soaked days in Tamarindo, at the Diria resort - fine dining, swim up bar, all the comforts of home, plus. We wanted rain forest, wildlife, off the beaten path, more natural Costa Rica. If you want authentic, this Ranch is a great option. I've read the reviews, and I can empathize with the negatives, and concur with the positives. The people, for us, really made this experience memorable. The farm tour is a must - never been to such a clean smelling place with pigs! We rode horses up the mountain - Magical! The pools, outdoor cold, indoor warm were perfect. The fish pond is right out of a fairytale. The creatures around the property were precisely what we had hoped to see in the wild! Accommodations were good - large bungalow #11(deluxe), 2 comfortable queen beds, shower was real relaxing, covered porch is wicked, hammock with sweet nature views. Perfect spot for sleeping and napping!

Very interesting farm tour. Delicious food made mainly from products from the farm. It's sustainable but still provides a good level of comfort for the guests. The pools are very clean. Overall, it's an absolutely amazing experience that is well worth the cost for anyone interested in sustainability, farming or self-sufficiency.

“Relaxing fun for the whole family at this inspiring ecolodge!”

This was one of the best vacations I’ve ever had and my favorite place I have visited in Costa Rica. It was super family-friendly and also a relaxing, restorative atmosphere. The farm fresh food was outstanding and the staff were incredibly kind, friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I have lived in Costa Rica for two years and this is one of my favorite places we visited and one of my favorite vacations ever! I was looking for somewhere that was kid-friendly and included three meals a day, ideally from the land. This place was everything I hoped for and more. I was looking for somewhere to decompress and regenerate after a stressful academic year, and I felt my nervous system begin to reset almost as soon as we arrived. The calming atmosphere and the healing power of nature is palpable. It has been a perfectly relaxing, fun, enjoyable, nourishing stay. The staff are super friendly and so helpful, and truly go above and beyond to make your stay exceptional and memorable. The location is remote but accessible (we came by shuttle; just the last short stretch is not paved). The food was exceptional and most of it grown on site. The location is absolutely stunning. There’s yoga twice a day and three amazing meals in a beautiful spot- does life get any better? I’m not sure if it does get any better than Rancho Margot 🙂 In terms of family friendliness, it doesn’t get much better. There is a playground next to the comedor and whoever thought of this was clearly a genius (and a parent 😆). There are three ranch dogs who couldn’t be sweeter and more cuddly- Rex, Ginger, and Koda- providing lots of entertainment and friendship. The heated natural pool, while varies slightly in temperature, is in the range of not too hot for kids and not too cold for adults. There’s so much to do, from fishing to horseback riding to kayaking and hiking. The ranch tour was a big hit and incredibly informative.

It's a beautiful place in a very nice setting with a sustainable concept. The staff is very friendly and engaged. Horse rising was great and the kids can experience the animals on the farm.

The place is very well integrated in the nature and environment, very beautiful and relaxing. Many activities included in the price which kept us busy for 2 days (farm tour, yoga, pools). Very professional, friendly and polite staff made our stay even more enjoyable. Very good eat-as-you-want meals. We were picked up at the bus stop in La Fortuna which was very helpful.

My stay at Rancho Margot was amazing. The staff is really friendly and the area of the farm is amazing. Most of the food offered there is from their farm. The two pools are amazing.
