After days of hiking, staying at Imago Hotel & Spa felt like a reward in itself. I was especially happy with the heated pool and jacuzzi - exactly what tired legs need. The spa facilities are impressive, with multiple massage rooms, a sauna and a Swedish shower. The room was spacious and very comfortable, the staff were helpful and the breakfast was truly excellent.

“Overall it was OK, but that says more about the fantastic scenery around El Calafate than the hotel itself.”

It has a good view of El Calafate and it is reasonably easy to get into the town by the hotel bus. A young gentleman On the front desk was helpful in getting us moved to a better room after we complained that the room was too hot to sleep in.

The view of the lake is fantastic. The staff were very helpful. The area of el calafate is fab but too far to walk, although taxis were very easy to get.

The room and pool were good. The staff were very nice, accommodating and helpful. There is a shuttle operating in the afternoon/evening.

The room itself was fairly comfortable, with a wide bed and good-quality bedding, which made sleeping pleasant. Unfortunately, the overall experience fell short of expectations, especially for a hotel marketed as five-star. Breakfast was quite disappointing due to the very limited variety, and no custom orders were possible. With only two staff members handling everything, service was slow. The spa facilities were another major letdown. Most of the equipment seemed to be malfunctioning: both the sauna and steam room heaters did not work properly. There was no shower in the spa area, and no towels were provided, which is hard to justify at this level. Additionally, the pool contained an excessive amount of chlorine, leaving our skin irritated after use. Housekeeping and maintenance also need attention. The towels in the room were very worn out and were not changed during our stay. The furniture in the hotel’s common areas was visibly worn and gave the impression of poor upkeep. Overall, while there are a few positives, the service, facilities, and maintenance standards are far from what one would expect from a 5-star hotel.

Imago hotel really exceeded our expectations. It provided very comfortable and clean room, kind and patient staff able to answer all our queries, excellent food and a beautiful view of the lake. It has an incredible spa and heated pool with availability of message on demand, perfect for the afternoon after tiring trekking and glacier expedition. Also a shuttle that can take you to the centre for free. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we recommend it to all.
