We were met by friendly staff in the reception area that also doubles as a small food supply area! Loved the location amongst the forest with great Lake views. It was a very cozy cabin with all the facilities required for our two day stay. We were snowed in on our second day but just loved exploring the forests covered in snow. Our cabin was so snug and warm. Great small kitchen with everything we needed!

“Most unwelcoming host in Iceland, we went elsewhere, they kept the money.”
I booked, through Booking.com, had the usual request for arrival time, we always choose '19.00', as we wouldn't want to be arriving any later, usually much earlier. This time, host asked for EXACT time of arrival 'so we can be there'!! bit weird, but assumed we could sort it on the way. Payment went out, automatically, we arrived in Iceland, all going smoothly, then had another message, saying there would be nobody there, no keys left, I MUST give arrival time. I messaged, again, saying our aim to be before, but impossible to pin down exact time, given driving........ No reply to that message, we decided that host considered us to be a nuisance, wanting to stay there, felt really unwelcome, bit the bullet, booked AND paid elsewhere, where we were welcomed. Yes, we lost £162, I'm sure they're delighted that they managed to squeeze money for doing absolutely NOTHING. You must be proud. My advice? STAY AWAY.

“Absolutely enjoyable stay”
Very clean and cozy lodge with a tranquil river view in front . The hostess of the lodge is so nice. We arrived late after the check in time and she waited for us. We didn’t have the time to have dinner before arriving but fortunately the hostess is very thoughtful and kept some pasta and sauce for sale so we didn’t have to go to bed hungry .

“A wonderful serene accommodation in the heart of the East”
This was our favourite accommodation for our holiday. The cabin was more spacious than expected and was really comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. The location is central and great and a short drive to many sites in the East of Iceland. The views were incredible and it's such a serene stay.

This gorgeous apartment had everything we needed, thoughtfully arranged and with care for the environment, which is always good to see. They even had a list of essential grocery items you could buy to top up. It was spotlessly clean comfortable, and perfectly located for our needs, and nice and quiet.
