“Lovely, comfortable apartment in great location”

Excellent apartment in every way - comfortable bed, great cooking equipment, secure parking, quiet location with short walking distance to town so easy to get to tours/restaurants/boat transfer. Super friendly and helpful hosts, Yeinner showed us lots of animals on the property, and also allowed us to park our car and store luggage an extra day for free whilst we were in Corcovado. Easy to find and welcoming check in. Thank you so much!

“Great place with friendly owners”

The apartment we stayed in was super spacious and had a great kitchen. The AC in the bedrooms worked really well and it was an ideal place to rest after a trip to Corcovado. However, the best thing about the place is the owners, who are really kind and helpful - we especially enjoyed the free ride to and from the ferry in their golf cart! They provide plenty of free drinking water and clean the rooms every other day, which is great.

“Perfect for our stay in Drake’s Bay!”

The check in was great. The hosts came to collect us off the boat from the beach. Our room was so cute and had a little kitchenette and living area. The balcony was perfect for a morning coffee. The hosts were so responsive before and during our stay and very helpful. We loved our stay. They also provide big bottles of drinking water!

We absolutely loved our stay at Cabañas Tico Gringo! Gringo came to the dock to greet us from the boat, and took us to our two bedroom house, where we met his wife Sonia.....such charming people, it felt like we were staying with family. The gardens are very lush, with a variety of wildlife....there was fruit on the bird table to attract a variety of species right to our patio. Our hosts were always ready to answer our questions and make recommendations to enhance our stay. We definitely want to return!

“So much wildlife to admire from the balcony - helpful host”

Great appartment, helpful host. He helps you with your tours, brings you where you need to be and is also connected to the boat rides to and from Sierpe, so that's very handy (he picks you up and brings you back). The amount of wildlife you can see from your balcony is unique. It was a lovely getaway.

Communication was wonderful and they were super flexible with our arrival. Conveniently located near lots of restaurants in town and the beach.

“Immersed in nature”

Had an amazing time here - the property is tucked away at the back of the town, surrounded by jungle and nature. We saw hummingbirds and iguanas and woke up to the call of howler monkeys. Lots of lovely touches in the room too - Gringo picked us up from the beach when our boat arrived and dropped us back when our stay was over. Highly recommend!

The host was amazing, he arranged everything for us, including the car park in Sierpe. He picked us up at the beach and took us to the house. The cabin was adequate for two people. There were not windows in the kitchen and bathroom, only nets, because the air is very wet there. The bedroom had windows and AC, which was very comfortable, the weather was quite hot. The rooms were very clean and nicely prepared for us, with fresh flowers, we really appreciated that. The kitchen was well equipped, we even found the device for preparing the traditional sock-brewed coffee, which we gladly used. The house was at a convenient distance to Drake Bay and other beaches. But even the garden itself was part of nature, we could see an agouti munching on food there.

We had the two bedroom bungalow which was really spacious, very well equipped and comfortable. We loved the verandah outside where we could sit quietly and watch the bird and animal life. Gringo helped us with transfers and tour bookings and is a very friendly, helpful host.

“Clean, comfortable and good location upper floor apartment with lovely terrace and wonderful hosts”

We were really happy with this upper floor apartment, which is in a peaceful location a ten minute walk from the main beach at Drake Bay where the boats from Sierpe arrive and from where most of the Corcovado, Cano Island etc tours depart. The apartment has good wifi, a well equipped kitchen and a nicely air conditioned bedroom with comfortable bed, along with a lovely balcony overlooking a small tropical garden that's full of interesting bird and animal activity. Within a five minute walk are three mini supermarkets, a good bakery and a number of restaurants. On top of all this, the owners Sonia and Yeiner are very friendly, helpful, and do their very best to look after their guests and ensure they have a wonderful stay in their corner of what for us was a tropical paradise.

“Amazing experience, would stay here again for a longer period of time.”

The host was amazing. Met us on the beach and helped with our luggage. Beautiful accommodations, private, quiet saw monkeys, toucans, agouti’s, hummingbirds and many other birds while sitting out on the deck. Host provided us with a recommendation for a good snorkeling company and places to eat. Everything was perfect. I would highly recommend staying here. One of the highlights of our trip.

Really exceptional place, great birdlife from the balcony! It's not just a room, more like an apartment, very comfortable with everything you need. The hosts were great and made a lovely gesture for my partner's birthday, which was really special.

Lovely little apartment in Drakes bay. The kitchen was well equipped. They even had tupperware boxes for storing food. It was clean and tidy. The balcony was surrounded by trees which attracted loads of different types of bird. The owner was really kind and helpful. They picked us and dropped us off at the boat and often checked in to see how we were doing. It is about a 10 minute walk to the beach but close to most of the restaurants. I definitely recommend it as a place to stay.

We spent an entire week in this tropical paradise. We were staying on the top floor of the owner's house, which has a wonderful location overlooking a little valley, immersed in greenery. Very quiet place at a walking distance from the town (no issue when we needed to buy something or eat out; also local supermarkets have very long opening hours so easy to drop there even on days filled with activities; on working days I recommend the local fruit and vegetable shop on the way to town). Kitchenette with all basic utensils was available and filtered drinking water was provided so no need to carry it from town. The owners Yeiner and Sonia made us feel like part of the family and they were always available in person or through Whatsapp (apart from regularly feeding the birds which allowed us to watch a magnificent bird safari from the terrace anytime we pleased). All the tours and activities we booked while staying at Agujitas were organised through them, everything worked great and we thoroughly enjoyed all of them. Would definitely recommend and would happily return any time.

“A relaxing, well-appointed apartment with a private bird feeder attracting lots of tanagers”

A well-appointed and spacious apartment. While there's no scenic view from the veranda, there is a bird feeding site just 5 metres from the front door, which the owners stock with fruit. If you are interested wildlife, you're in for a treat as it attracts multiple species of colourful tanagers and other birds. We also saw agoutis from the veranda on a daily basis. The Cabanas is only an 8-minute walk to the nearest restaurants of upper Drake Bay and about 12 minutes to reach the beach. The owners arranged to meet us at the beach on arrival and transport us and our bags to the apartment. They also give us a lift to the beach on departure. The hosts were super friendly and helpful.

The kindness of the staff and how clean and tidy it was
