We stayed in Douai, after booking, the host contacted us and moved us to a different apartment called Le Duplex du Beffroi. Although this review is for the originally booked place, we’re writing it here since we can’t leave a review for the other apartment due to the booking system. Check-in was easy and contactless, which we appreciated. However, the entrance area is through a garage, which is not very welcoming. The stairs leading up are very narrow and steep. The apartment itself didn’t feel clean — one lamp was half ripped out of the wall, the door was very difficult to lock from the outside, and the stairs to the upper level were quite unsafe, especially when traveling with a small baby. On the positive side, the kitchen is well equipped with four burners and an oven — everything you need for cooking. Still, we didn’t feel comfortable during our stay. Hygiene was lacking: the sofa cover had stains, the door was dirty, and there was an unpleasant smell in the apartment. The location is central and right by the beautiful tower, and communication with the host was smooth. But overall, we didn’t feel at ease in the apartment and wouldn’t return.

Amazing apartments and just 10 min walk away from the city center. Has all the equipment and amenities you need for a long stay and the private parking spot is also a huge plus especially for Douai city.
