“I would definitely stay again”
It was in a quiet location about 4km from the main station. It had a shared bathroom, but this didn’t pose a problem. Loverly balcony to sit and enjoy the evening or morning coffee. Our host was very nice and extremely helpful.

“If you want to sleep well, DON’T stay here!!!”
Good location, interesting design. You can use the kitchen and it is well equipped.

“Quirky, inexpensive place to stay, with a good local transport connection.”
This is a quirky, inexpensive place to stay in the small village Aufen, just outside of Donaueschingen. The Donaueschingen-Aufen station is just a few minutes on foot away, so it was perfectly possible to manage without a car. It is a very pleasant spot and I enjoyed making walks in the evenings in the surroundings. Groceries can be bought at an Aldi Süd or Edeka, about 25 min on foot. Donaueschingen itself is well connected, on the Karlsruhe-Konstanz, and Villingen-Freiburg rail lines. Good hiking in the Wutachschlucht is easily accessible by local transport.

WiFi wasn't working. The room only had the bed and nothing else useful in it. Additionally it was dirty and there were wires coming out of the walls. Not the best quality for the price

“Beautiful place to start the Donauradweg”
The lodge is located next to the Brigach river and its cycle road as well as the railway station Aufen. The lodge is beautifully restored. The owner is very friendly and of good advice.

The owner is very friendly and helpful! The location is superb! There is an amazing italian restaurant next to the location for amazing food.
