Well located. Next to a park where a fair was setting up for the weekend - thankfully not the night we stayed. Peaceful and tranquil ln the upper deck, accompanied by frogs croaking.

Internally it was fabulous, better equipped than some 5 star hotels!! Every detail considered. Breakfast was laid out ready and the there was plenty of choice.

We have stayed here before and reviewed, but just wanted to add that communication with the hosts was very good and the one small issue that we had was promptly dealt with. Would definitely recommend this place to stay. It is ideal for breaking the journey if you’re driving from the UK to the French Alps . Parking available.

Very comfortable stay ; we were nice and warm despite it being very cold weather with ice visible on the water. Very good breakfast. Convenient parking available and a short walk to the historic old town of Dole where there are numerous very good restaurants.

“Excellent stays and a unique experience staying on this converted barge.”

We had an excellent one night stay on the barge on our drive south to the French Alps and a two night stay on our return journey north to Calais. The owner was very efficient in keeping in touch with messages before our arrival each time and was there to greet us as we parked the car across the lane from the barge. The conversion of this old and huge former grain barge into visitor accommodation has been very imaginative and carried out to a high standard. It is moored on a quiet backwater off the main river with lovely views from the deck and portholes. We had very comfortable stays, excellent breakfasts, and the owners were very friendly and helpful with information about restaurants and local attractions.

A charming, quirky accommodation with parking and short walk into town. The hosts are fantastic and even gave us some local nibbles to have with our drink on the upper deck. Breakfast is everything you'd need to fuel for a busy day.

Great location for a short break and just a short walk into the beautiful historic town of Dole. The rooms are very nice and well equipped, there is a covered area for sitting outside and a Very nice breakfast choice

This is such a unique place to stay and considering it is on a barge, surprisingly well kitted out for a two night stay. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable and the breakfast was fab.
