Fantastic location, and a great restaurant. next door is a great brewery with a biergarten. Make sure that you are getting a room which is in the main building.

The location was superb with walks straight from the door and the evening meal, in particular, was superb: we opted for the 3course fixed-price menu and both the starter and the main course were wonderful (& enormous). Puddings were gorgeous.

“An unexpected but lovely stay”

Our room was for 3 with an extra bed which made it a little tight but it was a 2 night stay so that was fine. What was great was the beds. Our son in the extra bed loved how comfortable it was. We also found our bed and mattress excellent - a perfect bed and mattress are rare in any hotel. The shower was great - non slip, quite big and with good sliding doors - no leaking - a good shower head and plenty of hot water. But it was the restaurant that we specially loved. It was marvellous with delicious meals from local produce and what we assumed were traditional recipes. The wines were lovely. We stayed there only because of a problem with our car meant we had to find somewhere to stay - but have already discussed returning there again in better weather as there was a nice outside terrace and glorious views as well, that we couldn't enjoy in the cold and rain. Finally, everyone in the hotel was kind and helpful.
