“The perfect beach getaway!”

Beautiful location. Right on the beach. Secluded but still fairly close to the town. Very comfortable and clean space. Amazing home-cooked food. Very friendly and receptive owner. Chamath was extremely warm, helpful and kind from the start and took care of us really well. Arranged transport and everything else we requested. This was by far one of the best places we’ve stayed at on all our trips. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a calm beach getaway! Will definitely be back.

“Superbe”

We absolutely loved everything about our stay at Beach House Kalukatiya. The location is incredible — you truly feel like you are alone in the world, surrounded by peace and nature. Chamara and his family and their children are wonderful hosts, warm and welcoming. The families staying in the neighboring houses were lovely as well, which added to the special atmosphere. It was a timeless escape, a real parenthesis out of everyday life. Absolutely fantastic — we highly recommend!

“Exceptional beach house”

We had a wonderful time at Chamath's accommodation. The apartments are located right on the beach and are very clean. The bed is large and comfortable and has a mosquito net. We took a surfing lesson with Chamath, which was great fun. The breakfast was exceptional; we recommend the Sri Lankan breakfast – very tasty! The dinner was also really delicious; we had grilled prawns and fish. We would definitely come back, thank you for the wonderful stay!

This stay was our highlight of our Sri Lanka journey. Best location, best beach. We also had the chance to see locals there, how they live. The area is generally poor but it has its charm.

Great location on amazing beach! The owners were really lovely and looked after us well, and did a surf lesson with our son. We loved staying here!

“Calm, nice and friendly”

It was a lovely short stay at Chamath and his family’s place. The hosts are very kind, the room nice and clean. And even if is not really possible to have a long Beach day there, because there is little space to lay down in the sand (to be fair there are two sunbeds), it is a very beautiful spot direct at the sea. If you like a bit silence after some chaotic touristic hotspot days, it is a perspective occasion to stay a couple of days at Beach House…

“Fantastic stay with even better host!”

We had an a-ma-zing time with Chamath! His family villa made us feel like we had our own little private paradise. What a fantastic view and lovely garden for our 3 kids to play in. They made friends with Chamath’s son and really enjoyed the beach. Dinner by Chamath’s mom was so good, just like our dinner at the nearby Sunshine Cafe. The evenings outside in the very comfortable chairs with the sound of the waves and little fireflies everywhere.. magical :) What made this stay the most special though: Chamath himself. We did a full day of surfing lessons, first for our kids, then for ourselfs and he was such an amazing teacher! He asked to friends to watch our kids while he was teaching us, they were great as well :) Chamath took us everywhere with the tuktuk and we were all a little sad to leave this amazing place and great guy. “Tucked away in the Jungle next to the Sea is this wonderful rustic, laid back Beach location. But Sssshhh don’t tell eve”

Away from the ‘cool crowds’ of Dickwella is this Robinson Crusoe Beach house location. Super comfortable beds, fresh fish for supper and Volleyball on the (empty) Beach. Bliss.

“Place out of a dream”

Chamath and his family are amazingly welcoming and nice. His son is wonderful and has helped us with all our needs including showing us how to serf. We have been both in the big house and the smaller one. The big house is gorgeous, with mosquitoes nets. The smaller one needs a little upgrading. It is right on the beach and the view and moot is simply perfect. The beach outside the house is of the most wonderful red, yellow and black colors. We even saw some baby turtles

“Beautifull beach house with excellent host”

We really enjoyed our stay in the beach house, it is so nice close to the beach. Chantal and his family are an excellent host, very nice. He took to the turtle point beach and gave us surf lessons. Every day we ordered dinner from Chamal and it was very delicious what his family prepared. My wife had birthday during our stay, and he organised a cake as well. The waves are there quite big, but it is very nice to take a walk, enjoy the view and the privacy. And there is a lot of nice other beaches nearby. I can just recommend you to stay here!!!

“Perfect, if you wish peace on the ocean.”

Fantastic location directly on a natural uncontaminated beach, behind is a small village. The host Chamath ready to help and provide anything we needed. Great breakfast and dinner on demand too, cooked by grandma and wife. Simple but clean room with great mosquito net around the bed. There is no AC, but the breeze from the ocean and fan on the ceiling made it unnecessary!

“Absolute perfection!!!!!”

Just wow!! This place is a hidden gem. The location is exceptional. Amazing beach with no other tourists around. We had the best time here and didn’t want to leave!!!! We saw turtles coming up to the beach to nest in the evening and saw baby turtles hatched and heading out to sea in the morning. I can’t speak highly enough of this place. It’s close to local families and the children made some great memories with the local children here and had a blast playing cricket on the beach at sunset with them!! We stayed 5 nights and didn’t want to leave. It’s not luxury but was the Sri Lankan dream and our favourite place we stayed during our trip!! Really close to Turtle point (5mins drive) and easy to drive to Hirikiteya and Dickwella from here. Perfect location!!

“Thank you, Master”

Perfect place if you want to hide from everything and focus on your relax time. You can see, hear and breathe the ocean, really amazing location with its own vibes where you can enjoy sunrise and sunset or walk. Chamath and his family are super friendly and supportive people, food that family cooked was fantastic.

“Paradise”

This is paradise. Everything was perfect. Good, clean room with a hot shower. Fantastic food cooked fresh by the family. Right on a beautiful beach. Chama and his family did everything they could to make our stay perfect. We were very sorry to leave.

We had the best time here! We were slightly worried about no a/c but with a ceiling fan and handheld fan, we were more than OK, often turning the fan off when sleeping! The room and bathroom were more spacious than the photos showed and there's good storage space for clothes. Location is amazing....10 steps and you are on a beach! No other tourists around, just occasionally friendly locals who are often fishing. The village itself is quiet, nice and friendly. We rented a moped and always had children smiling and waving whenever we were driving around! Chamath is an absolute legend, we really enjoyed getting to know him. He's a super cool guy who is also a surf instructor, we unfortunately couldn't manage a lesson as I was unwell! Special shout out to Chamath's son Dillan, one of the most polite and sweetest boys we've met! Thank you so much Chamath and family ❤️

Really nice village. Chamath was super friendly and he and his wife cooked great food. We felt very well all the time. Sunshine Cafe nearby is also very nice. Beach is awesome! Thanks for everything.

“A must stay in Sri Lanka!”

It's right by an empty beach. the rooms are pretty and comfortable. The host Chamat was amazing. His mom makes the best food. very friendly and helpful.

“Wow!!!”

Wow was an amazing place. We feel so lucky to have found it and can’t recommend it enough to anyone. Chamath was extremely helpful, always being on call when we needed anything. We also took a surf lesson from him and he was a great teacher. The dinners and breakfasts cooked by his mother were amazing..! We wanted to eat out more but nothing compared to the home cooked food here. The location is exceptional, truly paradise with the most friendly locals making you feel safe and appreciated to be apart of their community. We loved spending time talking to the children, swimming and teaching them to fish. If you want somewhere that is right on the beach with the roaring ocean at night then book here. It’s a little outside of town, but Chamath can arrange you a tuk tuk at any time from his friend who is very reliable. Thank you!!
