“Stunning hotel with amazing service”

It’s a beautiful hotel right on the beach with amazing staff and excellent service . The food in their restaurant was very good and there are also other restaurants in the area. They can’t do enough for you here , really lovely people. They organised all my transfers to get to and from the island . The rooms are extremely clean and beautifully done with nice views of the beach, palm trees and views .

The staff and the manager fulfilled all our dreams!!!!! Thank you for organizing the fishing trip and then the beach dinner with a barbecue and dancing, as well as the other wonderful excursions.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and were very happy with our experience. The hotel is small, with only 9 rooms, yet it is almost always fully booked, which speaks for itself. The rooms are new, spacious, and very comfortable. Rooms on the ground floor have direct access to the beach, while rooms on the second and third floors feature balconies with sea views. The beach is excellent, with many shaded areas, which is especially important in the heat. While snorkeling near the hotel, we saw turtles, sharks, and many colorful fish, which was an unforgettable experience. The hotel also organizes snorkeling excursions to see turtles. Other guests joined one of these trips and told us they were lucky enough to see six turtles during the excursion. In general, there are several activities available on the island. We went fishing with local fishermen to Shark Point, where sharks are fed, and also asked the fishermen to take us tuna fishing, which was a great experience. We did not visit the mangroves on this trip, as we had already been there during a previous visit. The hotel offers lunch and dinner, which is very convenient, especially when you don’t feel like going out under the midday sun. As for cafés on the island, there is one café called Krill that is quite decent; the others are more like simple local canteens. On our departure day, the staff went above and beyond: they drove us to the airport, advised us to complete check-in, and then return to the hotel so we could continue enjoying the beach until our flight — a very thoughtful gesture. During our stay, our child became ill, and the hotel provided incredible support. They took us to a doctor and were extremely patient and understanding, even when our child was crying throughout the night due to stomach pain. We truly appreciate their kindness and care, and we are sorry if this caused any inconvenience to other guests. Breakfasts were simple but varied, and overall we had enough to eat.

“Fantastic location for a beach holiday (snorkel, scuba, sunbathe) on a local island in Baa Atoll.”

Chak'z was perfect for our (first) holiday in the Maldives. The location on the island was perfect (right on the "bikini beach"), staff were incredibly friendly (preparing a coconut for us that we found on the beach!), rooms were spacious and modern (twice-daily servicing including refilling the bottles of filtered water). The beaches in front of the hotel were perfect, with enough seating and sun loungers for ALL guests, and palm trees to put the sun lounger in the sun or shade, hammocks in the shade, great snorkelling right there (and snorkel rentals from the hotel). We had two seaview rooms for a family of 4. We also went on one of the hotel excursions (snorkelling trip to "turtle reef") which was fantastic--we saw so many turtles! Breakfast is good with some basics (eggs, sausage, bread) and some Maldivian dishes (beans with tuna, flat bread), and fresh fruits (dragon fruit, little bananas, papaya, watermelon, etc). The island itself is also wonderful--it's a "local island" so there is no alcohol and dress code is "cover knees and shoulders"--people were very friendly, restaurants had good food at low prices ($5 for a main, or $10 at Krill), and there's a little jungle/forest and fruit bats. We also went diving a few days (more turtles, rays, octopus, eels, many many reef fish and coral) with a dive outfit a 5-minute walk from the hotel. Oh - as a note, the hotel will arrange flights from Male airport (at additional cost). I didn't realise this so we booked our own, but that was fine too.

“Amazing place”

We had an amazing experience. The staff helped us to book the flights from Male to Dharavandhoo and the speedboat back. More than that we got more help that we could ask for because we forgot some things at the hotel and they managed to send them back to us before our flight to Europe. Everyone was incredibly kind with us ❤️ the room was great and we definitely recommend the ones facing the beach! They also organised trips everyday! We believed that the prices are more than good for the overall experience in Chak'z 1964.

Very nice, clean and large room with comfy bed and own balcony directly on the bikini beach with own sunbeds. Very friendly service staff. Breakfast is included with a buffet. Great place for visiting the Hanifaru Bay!

“Amazing Staff and Perfect location”

Lovely beachfront hotel, very welcoming and well maintained. The manager was incredibly helpful and truly cared about the guests, which made us feel at home. I enjoyed the full board option: the food was tasty, with a good variety for a small hotel. The staff, both in the restaurant and overall, were warm, friendly, and always happy to chat.

Mattress are quite hard

Riaz (the owner) and his stuff were very attentive to us, the room was spacious and clean. The hotel is located literally on the islands best beach area.

Rooms clean, good size and good standard fittings and sea view to small sandy bay. Abdulla and his staff are all super friendly, and we enjoyed several of the resort trios offered by the hotel.

“The best hotel on the island, loved everything!”

We had the most amazing vacation at this beautiful hotel. Hotel is small and perfect for quiet getaway, we got a room overlooking the beach and the sea. Room itself is very big, spacious and comfortable, bed is soft and comfy, bathroom is really large and spacious with enough toiletries for duration of the stay, towels are changed regularly and the room is cleaned daily! There is kettle for tea/coffee and small fridge which is very convenient! Beach is amazing, 5 steps away from hotel with enough beach chairs and beautiful view. Staff at the hotel is amazing, literally everyone is so polite, welcoming, smiling and going out of their way to make your stay memorable, from housekeeping, restaurant staff to managment. Special thanks to Poky for arranging beautiful excursions with manta rays and sea turtles. There are only few restaurants on the island and we tried food in all of them but we loved the food at the hotel restaurant the most and ate there most of the time. Pick up with the boat, flight tickets for domestic flight, everything was arranged by hotel staff. There were only 2 or 3 other couples with us in the hotel at the time so we enjoyed full privacy and had the whole beach for ourselves throughout our journey. But the most amazing part of this hotel is in-house coral reef right in front of beach! We were so mesmerized with the amount of beautiful exotic fish and sea life which can keep you occupied for hours and hours if you like snorkeling and exploring. Except thousands of different fish species we also encountered sting rays, sea turtles, sharks etc… on a daily basis. It’s more interesting than any national geographic documentary movie. So this place is absolutely perfect for relaxing holiday at exotic location, we would recommend it to anyone and would be the most happy to come back again! One week was not enough for our stay!

“A very pleasant stay, and I hope to return before the island becomes too crowded to enjoy see mantas”

Dharavandhoo Island is not overcrowded with tourists. The island has four restaurants and 2 ATMs. Payments can be made in dollars, euros, or the local currency, and some shops and restaurants also accept bank cards. When ordering food at the restaurant, expect a wait of 60 to 90 minutes for your order to be prepared. We arrived on the island with a local airline. The tickets were arranged at the hotel. There are enough loungers on the sandy beach. Just a few meters from the beach, you reach the edge of the coral reef, which feels like a busy tropical aquarium. The island is an excellent base for divers and excursions. The rooms are spacious, and the equipment is relatively new. The staff is very friendly. Special praise goes to the hotel manager Abdullah Riyaz, who was always available and willing to help. Despite some negative comments about the WiFi in particular reviews, it worked quickly and without interruptions in the room. The Maldivian food and fish were excellent (the preparation of European dishes could be improved).

Dharavandhoo I liked the fact that it was wider and cleaner than any other accommodation. The most important thing in the accommodation was the cozy bed and the water pressure in the shower. Above all, I was moved by the accommodation staff who responded in real time through WhatsApp. I was able to enjoy a variety of excursions.
