“Peaceful ☺️”

Had an amazing stay here, perfect location for visiting the rainforest and they organised a full day tour through the rainforest for me. Although it was quite a challenging hike it was well worth it and my guide Ruan was awesome, he spotted so many animals on the way and knew a lot about the rainforest. Highly recommend!

“Lovely stay in the rainforest very near the gate”

We had a great stay in this comfortable rainforest villa. Everything you might need is available here, with super friendly staff who were very communicative in advance of, and during our visit. The rooms are very tastefully decorated and the bathroom is huge, with fab panoramic views all around the hotel. The owner also helped organise our rainforest tour and kayaking and made us feel at ease throughout. Thank you!!

“Perfect stay”

Beautiful views from the balcony. The room was very nice and cosy - one of the most charming rooms we've stayed in in Sri Lanka. The bathroom, also, was wonderful. Wonderful food as well, we had all of our meals there - do try the curry! :) We had 2 guided tours through them, one night tour through the village and one 6-hour tour through the rainforest. Both were very good - but especially the 6-hour tour through the rainforest was exceptional! We saw so much, and our guide Enoki was very good at spotting animals - we even saw the blue magpie as she recognized the calls.

Great stay! Rooms are comfortable, great warm shower. The views are amazing. Daytour and night tour by tour guide Ruvan was the best! He tried so hard to show us all the amazing wildlife.

“A beautiful rainforest escape”

Absolutely loved my stay here. The location is stunning – surrounded by rainforest, and perfect for birdwatching. The rooms are beautifully appointed and filled with natural light. Being quite remote, the onsite restaurant is a real bonus, and they also organise rainforest tours you can walk to from the property. If you can, book a family room facing the canopy for the best views.

“Quiet, beautiful hotel with fantastic views!”

Amazing quiet location, with beautiful views and modern furnishings. They organised some great tours on foot straight from the hotel, with skilled guides - Dumidu and Ruan. We would recommend the 6-hour rainforest tour, which was enough time to explore the forest, swim in the waterfall, and see some fantastic animal sightings. The night tour and bird watching tour around the village were excellent too. The Sri Lankan breakfasts were delicious and varied, and we ate at the restaurant for all the meals. We are so glad we came to Sinharaja rainforest and stayed here- don’t miss it!!

“Beautiful family-run villa in an incredible location”

Had a great few days here. The owner Saman is wonderful, always ensuring we had everything we needed. Amazing location just a short walk from the entrance to the forest. The villa is lovely, clean comfy rooms. Great value for money. We took 3 tours - 1 early morning bird watching, one night tour, and one full day tour. All 3 were incredible with knowledgable guides. Bird watching tour in particular we saw so many endemic birds. The second tour we saw lots of critters. Highly recommend both of those. Sri Lankan breakfast great.. other food is also great, but sometimes you do have to order a bit ahead of time.. but this is natural for a smaller family-run establishment. We loved our stay here. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to explore Sinharaja.

Small family run hotel with super friendly and helpful staff. They arranged our rainforest trek and provided everything we needed. The complex is beautifully decorated and well maintained.

What a wonderful hotel in a beautiful place. Literally a few minutes walk to the rain forest reserve. The views from the hotel were breathtaking. The staff were so helpful and charming. I can’t recommend this more highly.

“Book for a few days”

Absolutely fantastic. Excellent location just a few steps from the park entrance. We booked the room upstairs and it had wonderful views. The property itself is really clean and very well maintained. The owner is incredibly kind and arranged all kind of services for us. He is really a nice guy and speaks very good English. All the staff was helpful and kind. We regret we stayed one night only. The place and the area deserves definitely more days to enjoy.

“A gem of a property and a birdwatching paradise”

Beautiful location and beautiful room. The owner was courteous and charming. Ready with a welcome drink. The room was simply stunning, beautiful linen, comfortable bed with great AC and WiFi. A lovely large balcony overlooking the river and forest. This place is a bird watchers dream!! We had a guided forest walk with a knowledgeable guide and swim option at the end. The following morning we got up at 6.30 and had a guided birdwatching walk both around the property and in the forest. We were rewarded with amazing views of the Blue Magpie. A great morning. We had a lovely meal at the property and an outstanding breakfast. Do yourself a favour and stay here for an amazing experience from start to finish!!
