“2 amazing days”

The room was good and the beds were fine. What makes this place special, is the proximity to Sinharaja Forest and the excellent dinners we had here. The owner is a guide in the forest reserve and can explain a lot about the flora and fauna of the area. We saw 2 snakes and many of the bird species I was looking for. We communicated beforehand and it went quick efficiently. Because we had 2 days of tours, we visited 2 different areas of the forest reserve

Convenient to have it all in one place. Breakfast dinner rain forest tour to Pitadeniya. All was good. Mr Bandula has a lot of experience.

Everything was perfect

The wonderful host Bandylla guided an enjoyable and informative walk in Sinharaja forest. L8vely home cooked meals.

The bed was amazing! Very very comfortable! The garden and the whole atmosphere of the place was relaxed, quiet, I sort of regretted staying for only one night. Mr Bandula was also very nice, he took me for my very first bike trip to the enctrance of Sinharaja and guided me there for a few hours.

An exceptional experience! If I could give a hundred stars,I would. The host is amazing, treats you like family, and feeds you the best food. Will take you on a guided jungle walk, because he is also a biologist! Supports you entirely with everything you need. Good, drink, conversation. What an incredible family! This place is the best place in Sri Lanka. And we've been to do many! I recommend coming to Sri Lanka just to visit this place!

Bandula and his family took fantastic care of us. We were treated to first class home cooked food and very caring care. We would also like to give our warmest recommendations to Bandula who guided us in the rainforest. He arranged everything and we received knowledgeable guidance among plants and animals always conveyed with an infectious laugh and enthusiasm. This should not be missed as it was very affordable.

The accommodation was great, it is located a little of the main road surrounded by greenery. The room was clean and spacious with a fan and AC and in the dining area we were served delicious homemade breakfasts and dinners (you can order also some desserts). The owner Bandula and his family were super welcoming. Bandula helped us with everything (booking transport, giving helpful tips for the next days of our stay in Sri Lanka) and even told us some entertaining stories from his life. What is more Bandula is a certified guide (he is very passionate and knowledgeable about fauna and flora) for Sinharaja Forest Reserve so if you want to visit this area do not hesitate to book a hike with him (we booked 2 different routes during which we hiked through the rainforest, saw many wild animals and had a dip near a waterfall).

I had an amazing time her, Bandula the owner and the guide tok me on a very nice hike thru the rainforest an he does everything he can do to make sure you have a good time. after the hike you get very good food from he’s wife and very good service from he’s son. This is the place to go if you want a good experience in this rainforest area.

I booked a bird tour in the Sinharaja Forest with Achi (Sinharaja Tour Guide – Rain Forest Tours in Sri Lanka) and also decided to stay at his family’s accommodation, which I found very practical. The hosts were extremely kind, polite and professional. They gave me great tips, supported me with all my wishes (for example, I wanted to visit a tea factory in the area) and even helped me arrange a car for my next destination, since there was no Uber available in this rather remote area. The accommodation and the garden are beautifully designed, and you can clearly see how much effort, energy and love the host and his family put into it. The room was very comfortable and lovingly arranged. I also ordered both dinner and breakfast there – the dinner (fried rice) was excellent, and the breakfast was customized to my wishes. Originally, I had only booked one night but spontaneously decided to stay for another because it was so nice and the surroundings are absolutely beautiful. I also recommend everyone to explore the nearby town, which is within walking distance. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I can warmly recommend Eco Villa Sinharaja to anyone visiting the area.

We had a wonderful stay at this homestay in the Sri Lankan rainforest. The host and his whole family were incredibly kind and helpful, and they made us feel very welcome. The homemade food was delicious and freshly prepared every day. Our room was spacious and clean. The rainforest tour was a highlight – we learned and saw so much, and the guides passion and knowledge made the experience truly unforgettable. We can highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic and warm experience in Sri Lanka.

Particularly liked Bandula, his wife and son. They were great hosts, attentive, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and extremely personable. Food was great, extremely good value and very tasty. Jungle tour was great ... you soon get used to the leeches (didn't expect to say that!)

Great value for money. Lovely guest house in Deniyaya near the main town and only a 10 minute walk to the bus stand but far enough away to be set in a peaceful location. The food was the best we've had so far in Sri Lanka proper home cooking. Bandulla the guy who runs the place is very friendly and humorous and also a guide so very easy to set up a tour once you arrive.

As the name suggests it is located amidst attractive scenery. Badulla my host is a botanist of repute and his rain forest walks are not to be missed. In addition super food and endless helpfulness.

“Magical experience”

Bandulla and his family were wonderful hosts to our family. We arrived by bus into Deniyaya, the guest House is just a few minutes walk from the bus station. We enjoyed a delicious home cooked meal at the house which catered for both vegetarian and meat eaters. We went for a guided tour of the Sinharaja Rainforest with Bandulla, which was an unforgettable experience. Our two children (9 and 12), don't like walking much but they spent the whole day walking the forest and engrossed in all the wonders that Bandulla showed us. We have been travelling for 6 months and this was a real highlight of our trip. Highly recommend staying here and going for the guided tour.
