“Great value remote modern 2 bed 2 bath apartment with amazing view right on beach with swimming pool”

On the beachfront with beautiful view from private balcony, the property is well equipped. The 2 bedrooms have good AC, hot showers, small kitchenette/lounge area with fan, balcony with comfortable seats and small table, and a washing machine. A sufficient amount of toiletries (soap, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion), cleaning products (dishwashing liquid, laundry liquid/powder) and towels (kitchen, pool, shower) were supplied for our 6 night stay. We didn’t have cleaning service during this time but may have enquired if we stayed longer. The wifi worked well, and the swimming pool well maintained & a good option for swimming as the Sea has huge surf and riptide. There were a couple brief power cuts, & the back up generator helped. We opted to walk 4 flights of stairs to not get caught inside the lift. Our host Samuel was a professional and courteous host & speaks English well. For $20 USD he picked us up from David bus terminal in his car, with a stop at the supermarket along the way as there are no shops or ATM near the building. The nearest local shop (with limited choice) is a mini bodega, a 15 min bicycle ride or 30 minute walk. It was super quiet during the week with barely anyone about aside from a handful of maintenance staff. By Sunday late afternoon the black sand beach was bustling with Panamanians. There are a total of 4 nearby restaurants which are open at staggered times. Las Olas resort very nearby is convenient for meals throughout the day with options to sit inside or out. Here we could pay by card. 3 other beach restaurants nearby serve a limited menu of local food. The main attraction in the area is the turtle sanctuary. There is a sign at the beach for@acotmar instagram alerts of turtle hatchings. The area has a small village feeling where everyone says hello. Some American expats living nearby gave us helpful tips which made our stay in La Barqueta memorable and reassured us its a safe place.

This place is right in front of the beach, the pool is a nice sized and not deep so kids can play safely. The room was a great size for a family of 3. We brought our own food, drink, etc. so we didn't need anything. That is key because there is not many restaurants nearby except the resort and no where to get food or snacks nearby. So bring your own. The view of the beach, sunsets, and stars from the balcony were wonderful. The kitchen had all the appliances you need to make a nice meal. The ACs run great, one in each bedroom cool the whole apartment. There is hot water in both of the showers and the kitchen sink. We went for my birthday and we had a blast.

The owner met us at the entrance and was very welcoming, showed us up to the apartment and introduced us to the features inside. He assured us we could contact him at any time during the stay if we had queries. he also checked in on us a couple of times by text, just to check we were getting on okay and we really appreciated this. When we had an issue with one air condition unit and a blown fuse, he was very quick to respond and send out an engineer to repair them both - we were very happy with that! We loved the sea view and the sound of the ocean, as well as the peaceful surroundings. The premises are very well maintained including the pool. We felt we had a lot of privacy.
