When we arrived, the property was closed—apparently it had been for months. We had to call the owner, who showed up visibly intoxicated and opened the place for us. From the outside, it looked decent, but once inside, everything was dirty. The pillows had been flipped to hide the stains, and when we pointed this out, he replaced them with pillows from the neighboring (used) room. In the sink of the so-called bathroom, there was a dirty spoon. The shower was awful, with a filthy floor and insects inside. At first, the electricity in the entire place wasn’t even working. When we told him we didn’t want to stay, he insisted—and charged us for the full stay anyway (even though he had originally said we could pay the next day, likely to make sure we didn’t leave). He even added that he would sleep in the room next to ours. We reluctantly decided to stay until we received a message from our driver saying he had just been threatened outside the property—someone told him they would beat him up and that they’d send someone after him. When the owner returned, he asked where we were heading the next day and tried to convince us to take the bus, even though he knew we had a private driver. Fortunately, we managed to sneak out after a couple of minuter. The man wasn’t around, and he had left the outer gate open. In summary, this was an extremely unsettling experience. I strongly advise against staying at this property, both for hygiene and, above all, safety reasons. We hope no one else will have to go through what we did.

Green area, rooms have plenty of space with all requied facilities. Host are very nice people, provided with everythibg needed. Were kind to me during my stay here. Thank you 💚

The hosts were so friendly and helpful. They made us breakfast each morning and loaned us their scooter to go to the shops. The gardens were lovely, growing lots of fruit and veg. We were able to use their outdoor kitchen to cook food. The bed was comfortable and room had fan but not air con.

Highly recommend this beautiful guest house. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The proprietor owner is the most friendly host ever. He was easy to communicate with before and during our trip- incredibly accommodating and can also help you plan activities while you are in Sigiriya. He took the time to show the beautiful Sigiriya, took us to Pidurangala early in the morning for the sunrise, I am really delighted. The breakfast and dinner were delicious - huge spread and definitely would eat meals here again. All around amazing stay. Thanks for the great time I will be back!

Bad hospitality

Excellent place to stay if you want to experience Sri Lanka's hospitality! The homestay owners, Samanti and Mahee. tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible. You begin feeling yourself a member of a family, or a valued guest. If we wanted, you could join Samanti in cooking dinner. Amazing, most of the vegetables and some fruits came to your plate from Samanti's small garden. Need to mention her very special lime juice, tasty and refreshing. Massage is also available. Along with good advice on what to do and what not to do. The rooms are simple but it is the place one would like to return again and again.

· We really loved staying here. The location is very good, with a nice view. You can have a nice breakfast and local dinners in their restaurant and the room was clean! But what we liked the most was the hospitality. The hotel Owner and all the other people there were very friendly, property owner arrange ayurvedic massage for us. its was really nice. for me reliable and they did their best to help us out with our activities and to arrange the tuktuks. We would definitely recommend this hotel!
