Had an amazing holiday! Surrounded by nature with all the facilities you need including a pool to spend a relaxing holiday with family or even a group of friends! Host was lovely and responded to all queries promptly. Loved the food and a shout out to Sarath uncle and Nimal uncle, staff at the property. Garden bbq was amazing!

A truly unforgettable experience! Our group of 7 stayed here for 4 nights and wish we stayed longer! The rooms, facilities and service truly exceeded our expectations. Sarath and Nihal catered to our every need, along with dishing up the most delicious meals including a sumptuous BBQ on our last night. Dharshi was an amazing host and great to communicate with, accommodating the ton of requests we threw at her. The property in itself is nothing short of spectacular. On the shores of the gorgeous Kandalama lake, this property sums up tranquility perfectly. The pool was ideal in the midst of the hot days and the open layout for its living and dining rooms really made you feel one with nature. It’s also perfectly located - just 10 mins from Kandalama hotel and close to all the nearest tourist hotspots (Sigiriya, Dambulla Temple and Minneriya National Park). Gaia holds a special place in our hearts and we will definitely be back!

The location, pool, chef and rooms were absolutely stunning. Absolutely loved the location, so peaceful and the view was gorgeous. Enjoyed watching the birds and hot air balloons!

“A unique experience”

We stayed at Gaia Lake Bungalows for one week and had an excellent time. You can rent the whole villa and enjoy a really unique private experience in this central region of Sri Lanka. The villa is located directly at the beautiful Kandalama Lake (with a stunning view on the lake) and is certainly one of the best locations you can choose for exploration of the cultural triangle between Polonaruwa, Anuradhapura, Kandy and Dambulla, including Sigiriya. Sarath, the private cook will introduce you to the various flavours of traditional Sri Lankan food and Darshi the manager kindly supports any kind of arrangements you may need. We booked the entire villa for only 3 persons but there is plenty of room for 6 persons or even more. Moreover a large swimming pool is available for exercise or relaxation after excursions. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The food prepared by the on-site cook was delicious. It was a pity we had to shorten our stay, but we enjoyed the ambiance of the place for the one night we were there.

“Wonderful villa by the lake!”

We had a wonderful time in Kandalama house! It is perfect for a group of 8 to 12 (including kinds), all together in a very nice house by the lake. The kids loved the swimming pool! The house includes service that will cook delicious food and help you with any matter at any time. Location is also very good, just a few minutes by car from Sigiriya Rock.
