Such an amazing hostel with the kindest, most welcome and open staff. What really made it more special was Gouda's barista skills and his lovely ice coffees! Rafiki offers amazing activities that help you connect with people and make your stay in Dahab even more magical. Amazing experience!!

yes, there is a social vibe, but I think most ppl who are amazed by it (in their reviews) just never have been to a hostel. there is no place to chill out and connect. the kitchen with a few cushions on the floor and a pool that nobody wants to put a toe in is small and uncozy. no music. closes at 10pm, which is a bit earlie for a place like dahab without a bar culture. so if you stay in a dorm you may meet young travellers to chat and maybe drink with. if you stay in a private room, you rather book sth at the beach for the same price as you will be living in a different building and somewhat cut off --> the ppl working there are very nice and kind, they help you always and do so quick in person or via their WhatsApp chat

The staff are friendly, the place is very clean, and their activities are fun. It's a very social hostel. I'd stay here again.

We accidentally booked Rafiki Hostels instead of Rafiki Oasis, and when we asked to change it, we were refused. Although both properties belong to the same company, they said they could not change the booking. Nevertheless, we stayed at Rafiki Hostels, and here is some feedback: The hostel is old. As a result, everything there is old and worn out. The window in our room did not close properly, the door did not have a proper lock and always made noise when opening or closing, and the lamp did not work. Overall, there were more things that didn’t work than things that did. Although the staff clean regularly, the place is not very clean. For three days there was a strange smell, and we asked the staff to fix it (the cleaning staff cleaned but did not try to get rid of the smell). Later, we were told that it had been a gas leak the entire time. Thank God no one decided to use a lighter or smoke, because honestly, I don’t know if I would be writing this comment now. During the last two days of our stay, there was no Wi-Fi.

Such a great experience. Met so many great people. The staff is just amazing. Stayed in a single room with a shared bathroom with one person - which actually was a whole flat with a kitchen only for 2 people. Rooms were cleaned every day. Did so many great tours. Community is amazing. Dahab is mesmerizing! Would definitely come back!!

Wasn't very clean. Was noisy in the "quiet" building. Didn't get given a towel despite asking 3 times. Didn't have a private bathroom. Location was very poor compared to other options.

People rate this hostel highly because of the social aspect, but we should talk about the rest of the stay. The social part is nice, there is a whatsapp group and communal areas, and they set up social events and activities almost every day. Most of these are common tourist activities you can book anywhere else, but they also have yoga and family dinners and things that let you bond with other hostel guests. Unfortunately, they are almost all in the evening, so if you work American hours like me, you're going to miss them all. The balcony private room has plenty of light from the many windows. My favorite part of the stay was chilling with the kitten Cookie, but unfortunately they say they are going to not allow the strays on the property anymore. Breakfast is OK, made in the small communal kitchen each morning, eggs and beans and a couple other native dishes.

There was 1 bathroom for the 3 private rooms and the shower & toilet were in the same bathroom. So if anyone was showering, you can't go to the toilet. The hostel is located next to a busy street.

“Great stay”

We really enjoyed our stay there, the staff was incredibly nice to us and helpful. The room is really comfortable and clean, and so is the toilet. The breakfast is freshly made and delicious and there are a lot of events you can join every day.

Rafiki is a great institution and the place to be for all events happening in Dahab. It's a great hub for that and a great place to stay in geberal. They have everything from dorms to private appointments. The breakfast is also great and cooked fresh!
