Lots of noise, got only 1 bed for a party of 3, website had wrong hours for the breakfast and staff really didn't seem to mind.

Beds were very uncomfortable, only had space heaters for heat

The bar and restaurant were nice. The grounds are pretty.

Breakfast and the breakfast staff. We had a riverside view which was nice. Lots of towels. Linens were good. Plenty of pillows.

“Horrible and disappointing”

This was one of the worst hotel experiences we have had in a while. The rooms were very dirty. We arrived late and the shower did not even work, the air conditioner was so loud and clunky it woke us up every 15 minutes. The hotel hallway was extremely loud and there is no sound proofing between rooms. We could everything within the whole building starting at 5am when people started checking out, until way after midnight. If you want to have some sleep on your vacation it is impossible at this hotel. It was like torture after 3 days of staying here. The resort fee was listed at $5 per day - but the charge at the resort was actually $29 per day. The hot tub did not work, the outdoor tiki bar was closed until the last day, and there were no amenities. We were told the adventure shop would be closed on the public holiday and in fact is was open and taking reservations which we found out the next day after it was too late. This was a terrible vacation and a total waste of time and money. I cannot tell you how disappointed we are.

Location

Great stay with two young kids thanks to the heated pool. Hotel was is much better shape than expected (some bad reviews, but I think, there were already some renovations). Nice atmosphere with the little Tiki Bar. We all loved it, you can really give it a try.

Unfortunately, we were deeply disappointed by the hotel. We booked a room in the morning hours of October 12 for the same night. By that time quite a bad tornado had hit the area and we were glad to learn that the hotel was accepting bookings (both through Booking.com and their website; we opted for Booking.com as it seemed easier to fill in the reservation form). When we showed up that night at 8pm with two very tired children longing for a bed we were told to look for another place to stay at. The receptionist claimed that they were not having internet. This is what we could accept. However, he also told us that they had wanted to get in touch, but had not been able - as they had not had our phone number. Or so the receptionist said into our faces. On a sheet of paper though were the hand-written names of our family...so I started to feel having been foul played. This upsetting feeling turned into sad recognition as the next morning the manager enquired in a text Message about how our stay had been going so far. So they had our contact details from the beginning! So far we have not been reimbursed, either... I feel deeply sorry for the people who became the victims of the tornado the day before and my family and I were truly shocked by the devastating sight in town. On the other hand, and I am sorry if I offend affected people by this statement, one step towards a catastrophe is to turn to a calming professionalism as soon as possible. And it looked that the entire town was very busy with undoing damage and restoring order. We could have stayed in Orlando - but really wanted to show our support. Crystal River is such a nice town. the canal for our boat & boat ramp , but unable to use our fire stick on the room tv & unable to get local tv either called the office but no one showed up but it was late .
