“Only stayed 2 hours as the hottub wasn't working - only advised on check-in!”
Check in was quite late at 5pm. We met the girl to check us in. Upon arrival she helped us with our cases as it is a top floor and there is no lift. It was only at this point that we were advised that the hottub wasn't working and didn't know when it would be fixed as the engineer was on another island. This was the reason we booked the apartment - if we had been told earlier, we could have sorted something else rather than waiting all day. We called booking.com who were going to reach out to the host but advised us we could cancel and ask for a refund due to this. We quickly booked somewhere else and tried to leave the apartment, only to discover we were locked in and the only door out was jammed with no escape from a top floor flat!! When we tried to get a refund, we were only offered less than half our money back for the total stay! Booking.com finally managed to get the host and we got our money back. Location wise, it is quite far out and I would say a good 30-40 minute walk into the centre of Corralejo with no public transport. If something is not right, it would be nice for the apartment owners to let you know advance, especially as the hottub is their selling point. However, we may have had a lucky escape given the dodgy door!
