Really tasty chicken fajitas for dinner and breakfast from 6 AM which is useful for early visit of Calakmul ruins. Cosy and relaxed vibe. Friendly owners and kittens.

Very comfortable beds, charming hut. It was very close to the entrance to Calakmul archaeological area. Also, nice breakfast!!

Ok for one night when visiting Calakmul - wouldn't stay longer than that. The food in their restaurant was tasty.

We loved everything, if you want total immersion in the Maya culture, in the Maya houses, and with Maya food cooked by the owner, it is the place to be ! Very friendly staff, very nice local food. Staying there made us rest well before leaving early for Calakmul amazing site.

Location 1 hour by car to Calakmul. Very simple cabins. Just that it is in small village. So all, that can expext from booking.com pictures. About restauranf: You can get dinner, prices are cheap, but the food and portions according to prices. Overall food is ok, breakfast was good. If You need a beer 200 m away small shop, just ask for cervesa.

Nice and comfortable place to rest and prepare for a visit to Calakmul. Homey rural atmosphere with chickens roaming around. Good and affordable food. As agreed, the hosts had our lunch-boxes ready early in the morning.

The host at the reception was very helpful and accommodating. He called to check the new opening hours of the archeological site of Calakmul and the national park. We needed to leave early the next day and the staff was prepared to provide take-away picnic for us instead of breakfast on site.

It was in a nice setting with thatched roof cabana. Parking inside the premises. Good breakfast. They also serve food in their restaurant for lunch and dinner at a reasonable price. It's located very close to the Calakmal entrance. The shower was reasonably good. The popular Bat cave is less than 10 mins drive. The bat cave is worth the visit. You can drive there at around 4.30 pm as the bats come out during sunset.

“Spartan overpriced accomodations perfect to visit Calakmul”

Cabañas Calakmul offers very spartan accommodations, with a basic bed in a cabin and an even more rudimentary bathroom. The room includes a fan and a mosquito net, which are essential given the remote jungle location. Despite its simplicity, the location is perfect for visiting the Calakmul ruins, especially given the site's unusual opening hours. However, it feels like the host takes advantage of the limited accommodation options in the area to overcharge guests. Calakmul itself is brilliant and definitely worth the visit. With the new Mayan Train and the new hotel under construction, it's likely the area will lose some of its wild, untamed charm. The journey to Calakmul isn't ideal, as the road can be very bumpy and sometimes resembles a dirt track, but if you drive slowly, you’ll reach the site in about an hour and fifteen minutes. Be aware that the site is closed on Mondays due to ongoing works, and while most of the site is off-limits during construction, the pyramids remain accessible. To avoid any surprises, check the @inahcampeche Twitter account for the latest updates on entry hours and site closures. Despite the challenges, a visit to Calakmul is a unique and unforgettable experience.

Clean and comfortable cabanas, conveniently located close to the Calakmul access road. Nice basic shower, with plenty of hot water. Friendly hosts, with basic menu dinner choices. They were also happy to accommodate early departure (as everyone that stays here leaves early to visit Calakmul) with early delicious breakfast.

It is really next door from the calakmul entrance so if you would like to enter at 5am like us, it is the place to go!! It is a family owned hotel and they are really nice.

Location to visit Calakmul is great. Staff were responsive when we forgot something in the room. Little chicks in the property, good for kids.
