We have had the most wonderful stay at Malaga Hills Boutique & Wellness B&B. Nestled on the hillside with spectacular views across the mountains and beyond to the sea, this place oozes class and tranquility. The accommodation is immaculate and restful, with very cool artistic touches in the décor to enjoy. We’ve made full use of the wellness facilities — the sauna and lovely pool in particular were perfect after a day hiking, and there are wonderful trails available right from the door. All the staff were amazing throughout our stay — warm, attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. The owner and team managed that fine balance of being there when you need them while also allowing complete rest and relaxation when you don’t. Breakfast was a work of art in itself: fresh, delicious, and everything you could need to set you up for the day. We didn’t have a car and frequently took the short (albeit a bit steep to start!) walk into Cómpeta, where we found a great choice of restaurants, supermarkets, and a wonderful ice cream shop. The atmosphere in the square was lovely. A special mention also goes to Maria’s taxi service — Maria was exceptionally helpful and absolutely top-notch professional, which made getting around easy and stress-free. We enjoyed our stay here so much and would highly recommend this very special place.

What a wonderful treat to spend a relaxing 7 nights at Malaga Hills. The hotel is beautifully presented with fabulous facilities. Having only 5 rooms, you are guaranteed a quiet and tranquil stay with stunning mountain views. The gorgeous white village of Cómpeta is a short walk away (25 mins) offering a lovely atmosphere and fabulous restaurants. Rudd and Vreneli are wonderful and welcoming hosts - nothing is too much trouble ❤️. Estrella and Estella treated us to delicious breakfasts each morning, always with a smile and a friendly chat 🙂. Estrella also recommended, and booked, restaurants for us each evening. Her beach recommendations were spot on too ⛱️ The honesty bar is a fab idea. You can help yourself to wine, beer, spirits, tea and coffee at any time and settle up at the end of your stay. Great when you want to chill and watch the sun go down on the terrace 🌅 Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us. We will return soon.

Perfect location for walks or just relaxing. Breakfast was served at 9am, varied slightly each day. No other food available during the day, however the local village is only a 25min walk or 5min in a car. Some lovely restaurants to choose from. Using the hotels WhatsApp link allows the owners/staff to organise any reservations with great local knowledge. Overall a great find, very clean, easy parking and wonderful views.

I had a wonderful holiday at Malaga Hills as a solo female traveler. The drive through the mountains was a bit of a challenge at first, but I quickly realized it was more in my head than reality — the roads are excellent. Malaga Hills is a small boutique hotel, truly an oasis of peace with breathtaking views over the mountains. What I especially appreciated, traveling on my own, was the personal care: I received great tips about local restaurants, and Estrella even made the reservations for me. I came for hiking and to clear my head, and everything was perfectly arranged. Digital maps were available, and Vreneli, the owner, took the time to discuss which routes would suit me best. After my hikes, I could fully relax with a wonderful massage. I was a bit worried I might feel lonely, but because breakfast is shared with all guests — and there are only five rooms — it’s really easy to make contact. I even went out for dinner a few times with other guests and ended up making a new friend. How lovely is that! What stood out most was how safe I felt — both at the hotel and in the surrounding area. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. In short: highly recommended! I will definitely return — maybe next time with a few friends.

“Magical Hills!”

The hotel was beautiful and the setting, sublime! We loved the village, just watching the world go by in the plaza, eating fantastic food. Our room was spacious and the whole hotel beautifully furnished with everything arranged for the comfort of its guests. The standout feature was the kindness and friendliness of the staff and our hosts, who went beyond to book us restaurant tables, give us local information and help us out. Thank you so much, we had a wonderful time!

“A beautiful, peaceful place”

We were welcomed upon arrival and immediately loved the relaxed atmosphere and artistic decor. The room had everything we needed and it was nice to have the honesty bar for relaxing on the terrace. We enjoyed the pool during the day and had peaceful evenings looking at the stars after visiting the town’s local restaurants. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. A lovely relaxing stay and sure we will return.

We’ve now stayed at Málaga Hills three times — and there’s a reason for that. Every time, we truly enjoy our stay. What stands out is the personal attention: the team and the owners do everything they can to make your stay as pleasant as possible. It’s also great that Estrella arranged our restaurant reservations and booked a taxi for us again — top service! And, of course, the location speaks for itself: breathtaking views, peaceful surroundings, and the beauty of the surrounding mountains. We’ve already booked our next short holiday 😊

“Relaxing escape from the city on the beautiful Andalusia mountains, amazing views and facilities”

Malaga Hills is such a wonderful place to stay, relax, explore the surrounding nature and towns. We stayed for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The view to the valley and mountains was so beautiful, I loved grabbing a coffee in the morning and reading a book with the view. A delicious beautifully presented breakfast was served every morning by the friendliest of staff. Perfect for getting a good start for the day. There is a ton of workout gear and options so I enjoyed a morning weight workout on the terrace. During the day we relaxed on sun beds by the pool on the terrace that gets sun the whole day, and from where you can also watch the sunset. I wish I could spend every sunset drinking wine on this terrace! The library is full of books and has the most amazing massage chair. The host of Malaga Hills are so friendly, welcoming and helpful, wanting every guest to truly enjoy their stay. They put great attention to detail on how everything is run. Needless to stay the rooms are very clean and comfortable. Competa town is a short walk away and great for lunch, dinner or an afternoon drink. We also walked to a nearby winery for a tasting - highly recommended!

We had an excellent stay at Málaga Hills. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a breathtaking view over the surrounding mountains that immediately sets the tone for a relaxing and scenic escape. The true highlight, however, were the hosts, Vreneli and Ruud as well as Estrella. Heartfelt, gracious, and incredibly attentive, they went above and beyond to make our stay special—from offering local hiking tips to organizing a oil tasting, to emergency taxis :) Also, the breakfast was absolutely outstanding—fresh, generous, and served with care. A perfect start to every day. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a peaceful, well-run, and warmly hosted getaway

“Highly recommended, little gem in the beautiful Hills, run by really great people”

Malaga Hills Eco-Hotel is truely a gem run by amazingly friendly people and situated in the most beautiful scenery within the Malaga Hills. We loved the personal attention, the cleanliness, the breakfast (!) and rooms with views, the teas and wines available and the little library/relax area where the hosts made us a small cosy fire in the fire place. We followed the recommendations and did two amazing hikes in the area and had super nice dinners in the suggested restaurants. It's all taken care of if you want/need that (and I recommend!). We also followed 2 yoga sessions given by a Dutch yogi from the neighbourhood, which were wonderful as well. It's a place to relax, enjoy, be active and mindful, Malaga is an hour away, but nice beach towns are in 30 min nice hill drive proximity.

A fabulous place to relax (in our case for over a week). Ruud and Vréneli & their lovely staff are exceptional hosts, making sure that we had everything that we needed for a very relaxing stay. Best breakfast ever &, this may be a strange tribute, but it's a fantastic place to stay if you're not feeling well. We both went down with a heavy cold while we were there, confining us to one day in bed each. We all know how rubbish that can be when staying at a hotel or B&B, but not so at the Málaga Hills!! We were staying in the spacious room Beyoncé with views one way to the sea & the other to the hills, with the most comfortable bed, so a few days confined to our room, relaxing, was just fine. It's also a very pleasant 20 - 30 minute walk to Cómpeta for evening meals.
