Our stay here was simply perfect. The place is peaceful and surrounded by beautiful views – exactly what we needed to switch off and relax. What truly made it special was our host, Marco. He went above and beyond, giving us fantastic recommendations for local restaurants and hidden gems around Andalusia that we would have otherwise missed. We left feeling refreshed and already know we’ll be back!

Unique Location with amazing views on the sea and mountains. The host was very helpful from start to finish of our short stay.

The location is ideal for anyone looking to escape the stress and noise of the city and unwind in peace. Marco is a great host—his recommendations were spot on, and he was always available whenever we needed assistance. We felt well taken care of and had our privacy and independance in La Casita which we value a lot.

“Andalusian paradise”

Our stay at la Madrugada was really fantastic. Marco and Jayze the Belgian Shepherd were amazing hosts and we felt right at home. The setting was so peaceful and picturesque and the rooms and breakfast were superb. Whilst staying at Madrugada we did several wonderful walks amongst the spring flowers in April. The views were beautiful and Marco was really helpful in directing us with maps and written instructions which was needed . The town of Competa was really lovely and we enjoyed several delicious meals and the odd cocktail and sangria! We would highly recommend staying at La Madrugala as a place to base yourself in this beautiful area. The rooms were really comfortable and there are lots of places to sit and enjoy the peacful view. Breakfast was always delicious with a selection of high quality local produce. The pool was also lovely spot to base yourself for a lazy day and the honesty bar a lovely feature if you fancy a beer or soft drink without having to venture to the town. There is much to see and enjoy here, and you are very well looked after. We had a great holiday thank you Marco and Jayze!!

“Beautiful, relaxing retreat”

Lovely breakfast with fresh orange juice. Marco was very friendly and prepared with many suggestions about local activities. It was very quiet at night. Beautiful view of the countryside and the sea. The dog and the cat are so cute! Nice honesty bar.

Due to travel logistics nightmares, we arrived rather stressed late at night. We woke up the next day to incredible mountain views and a warm welcome from Marco and his gorgeous dog and cat! He was so helpful and informative about what we could do locally. The B&B only has 3 accommodations so it feels very personal and tranquil. The room was comfy with an amazing shower. We really enjoyed having our breakfasts on the terrace soaking up the views. The pool was great to relax after walking many steps. It is so peaceful with magnificent sunrises and sunsets. It is a great base for exploring Andalusia and only an hour away from Málaga. We are most certainly planning to return.

We loved everything about la madrugada. The peace and quiet, the exceptional views, the fantastic breakfast. Marco was such a nice host, very helpful and welcoming.

“Ten out of ten!”

Absolutely everything was exceptional! Marco is the best host we ever had. From the pre arrival contact to the departure day, he was very attentive and caring. The house is amazing, with nice views of the sunset, good pool and sunbeds to spend the days there in the quietness of the mountains. Breakfast was so good too and the room was super clean. Everyday, Marco made sure we were good and had plans, always giving good recommendations. We spend a hole week and even realizing that the place was a bit too far from the beach or any village, we have no regrets and enjoyed every moment. Thank you Marco for all!

“Remote getaway.”

The setting. Met nice like minded people. Interesting to see the local villages.

Very Friendly, clean tidy bespoke accommodation. Bit of a distance into the Campo but that was the charm. Fantastic breakfast !

Marco is probably the best host anyone can imagine! Super sweet, helpful, organized, … I could go on for hours :) His place is just incredible! We think of it as the Hollywood/Malaga-Hills! Stunning views, quiet, peaceful, easy to get to and close to Competa. Breakfast was just amazing! Pool, room, building etc. were in perfect shape, and we could tell- there is a ton of love going in it! All in all the perfect spot to check out the area! Thanks again and hopefully we will be there again soon! :)

The view, the facilities, the tranquillity, the restaurants in Competa. Marco, the owner, was a great host and will miss my stay here.

This is how heaven on Earth might look like. I liked absolutely everything. Words are simply superfluous, you can't help but like it here. And everyone will find something special just for himself. Highly recommended!
