Number 11 is situated in a quiet neighbourhood and is within walking distance of both the famous Barefoot gallery and Gallery cafe . It is a beautifully and lovingly preserved property with countless fascinating art works and artefacts belonging to Geoffrey Bawa , many of which were created by famous artist friends . So much to look at and admire in every corner , nook and cranny of the property . Staying here for a couple of nights in 2 different rooms each night was such a treat and the staff Rohana and Priyantha made my stay extra special and memorable with their warm hospitality . Breakfast on both mornings was superb .

“Unforgettable and a unique experience”

Geoffrey Bawa’s Colombo residence is beautifully preserved with stunning artefacts and art work all placed in their original location . It is living maintained by the trust and I was grateful to experience the warm welcome and hospitality of the staff , Rohana, Priyantha and Sujani who prepared an excellent breakfast of spring hoppers and curries . It was a memorable stay and I will definitely return with my family to share the experience with them . The tour of the house was brilliant and I really felt the essence of the legendary Mr Bawa and his genius which was palpable in every corner .

It has been our second time to stay in No.11, and also the first time to experience the new suite on the ground floor. The room has been renovated according to Geoffrey Bawa's original layout at his early home-studio stage. The living room in the suite is beautiful. Once again, we got an exceptional tour and excellent breakfast from Rohana. Thank you Rohana!

I especially loved the warm, discreet service. and that most of the staff have been in Mr Bawa's service for many years prior to his passing. They have a palpable sense of love and respect for the late Mr Bawa, his legacy and property. Their reverence and devotion is the most heart warming to encounter and speak volumes for the man we came to pay homage to.
