Wow what a find! A gorgeous property in a stunning private location with beautiful ambiance and fully fitted with everything you need. Plus great food for snacks and breakfast. We had supper with Annie and Alistair which made for a very memorable and special occasion. Highly recommended.

An amazing setting, a beautiful house full of history. Might be slightly off the State Highway but well worth the detour.

There was a lovely hamper on arrival - an added bonus - and we ordered the dinner hamper which was just yummy. Fresh meat for the BBQ and the most delicious salad - made for a perfect evening meal outside after a day of driving.

Lovely location and welcome hamper (homemade cookies and granola were very tasty), fascinating history shared by the host and excellent comfortable bed and linen all made for a restful break away.

“Lovely large old property but well updated oozing character in lovely countryside near the coast”

A large historic property that has been well converted with all modern facilities. It stands in its own grounds approached via a long gravel driveway. The couple that own it were perfect hosts - there to help but not intrusive. They did offer to show us their farm an offer we were keen to accept and thoroughly enjoyed. They supplied a very large basket of breakfast/lunch type foods of exceptional quality. As we were only staying two days we were unable to use it all. It included fresh milk, muesli cereal, bread, home made cookies, butter, fresh orange juice, custom chocolate bar, crisps etc.

This is a very special place. It totally exceeded our expectations. We would definitely go back. The hosts amazing. The place is very clean and the beds are super comfortable.

“Absolute privacy”

It was our first stay at Te Whare. Very nice 100+ yo cottage : well preserved and upgraded to the 21st century requirements. The kitchen was very modern. it couple greatly with enormously large sofa in front of fireplace !!! Add one more wood burner!! And a bedroom size of half cottage with a super king bed and all European bedding. Be careful not to get lost between sheets :) very comfy an relaxing ! All rooms has outside access which is great while you are travelling with you lovely pet:) And it’s working farm! With thousands of sheep. Alistair and Ann are very hospitable. Huge crate full of homemade and local product was awaiting on arrival. Cottage is situated on a distance from a main home so your privacy is absolute. Everything was just fantastic. Thanks!

Homestead dinner :) Actually everything was great - from a moment of greeting on arrival by Ann snd Alistair to the walk around farm and evening in front of fireplace. The place is full of history and presented in immaculate condition. Pet friendliness is a great bonus :) Thanks a lot!!
